So it looks like there will be another Conspiracy set this year. Last year they did not add these to magic online because reasons. What those reasons are we could probably debate about. Though a good thing did come out of it which was vintage masters. At least to me it was a good thing because I had a blast playing that set. Though I do remember some complaining when one of the cards was making waves in legacy or vintage but it was a card not reprinted in the Vintage Masters. I am not sure how many of the old Conspiracy cards were left out but I don't think any have been put into the system as rewards. Now I shall get onto my point. How do you think these cards will get into the system? Will they just make a Conspiracy 2 set? Will there be some Vintage Masters 2 set? Put into some kind of cube prize pack? Sit on them and say they can be reward cards at some point but we never see them (looking at you Duel Deck alternative art cards)? My opinion, I think they will either put them in cube prize packs or will say they will use them in the future and just sit on them. I think it is possible for them to make the Conspiracy 1 and 2 online but I don't think they care to go through the trouble of making adjustments to the code for it. I hope they would make a Vintage Masters 2 set or some other draft set but I don't see their drive for it. |

It is plausible they might mix them in with EMA for online. |

"Last year they did not add these to magic online because reasons. What those reasons are we could probably debate about." I notice that to implement the mechanics of conspiracy would require programming changes to the drafting section. It is well known that the wotc dev team could not program their way out of a wet paper bag. If new mechanics of a "fringe" product require changes to the draft section we will not see it online. |

But it's not just CRB, this year supplemental product will be: Dual Decks (which we don't get) Conspiracy 2 (which we probably won't get) Eternal Masters (which won't rival Vintage Masters) FTV (Which I doubt we'll get - I expect it to go the way of the DDs) Commander Product (which we don't get) And that's just what we know of so far... The only one we know for sure that we will see is Eternal Masters; but, while it might be possible to add some cards there, I can't imagine a product that is released in both Paper and MODO having different card lists. Likely another cube draft prize pack so casual players get further screwed again. |

For me that is the main reason. I could see other people arguing that we might not have gotten vintage masters without it. I never got to play a Conspiracy draft just due to my life is in a point where I can't play in person. Then on top of that my favorite store went out of business. Though I did play the heck out of Vintage Masters, and the mono black agro deck I liked depended a little on at least one Conspiracy card. Not sure how that would of changed Vintage Masters or the timeline for Vintage masters. Another point I could see being made is that it might be more of a social thing and MTGO is about the most anti social thing they could do. Which is said because MTG is social at its heart and origins. So it might defeat the purpose of the draft and also might not get played that much. There could be other reasons but I don't know of any. |

It seems they just require for someone to build a deck list as the cards still go in the system and need to interact with each other anyway. Maybe there could be a little more with the Duel Deck format but I can't see it adding that much work to be legal in there. At least if they did things right. It would be nice if they did a short run of being able to buy the older Duel Decks and FTVs again for a little bit. Though I don't see them doing it. |

In fairness to the WotC code monkeys, coding significant rule changes into even one aspect of a very complex product like MTGO would be a costly endeavor (unless the rules engine was designed by true geniuses). I'm almost certain that is the *real* reason they dropped 2HG (right before a set that was supposed to be designed for 2HG interactions). In fact, if you read their announcements regarding the discontinuation of team formats, they practically say as much, just couched in terms that emphasize that the formats are unpopular over the fact that they can't be bothered to update them. #StillBitter But I'm pretty sure that their reason for discontinuing fixed list products online is more of a policy thing based on how those products affect the online economy. Cauchy made a pretty good argument on this in one of the older threads about EDH 2015 not coming to MODO. |

My guess would be cube prize packs. They seemed to feel those went well last time. |
