Cards released so far.

Highlights:
- Tri-class cards
- Priest is back on the menu: 6 mana spell, deal 5 damage to all non-Dragon minion spells; 3 mana 3/4 that gives +3 health to a minion as a battlecry; 1 mana spell, all enemy minons get -3 attack this turn; 1 mana spell, take control of a minion with 2 or less attack for this turn;
- Rogues get Coin as a collectible card;
- New legendary allows you to build a spell from scratch if your deck is singleton;
- 1 mana 2/2 minion with deathrattle: restore 4 life to each player.

I am actually looking forward to this. I also like that they just dumped a ton of Priest cards right away and made sure almost all of them at least looked absurd.

I wish they would stop shoving dragon dildos down Anduin's throat. It's not even remotely comprehensible why priest should be the dragon class.
Also I really don't understand what all the pandaria stuff is doing here. I think the jade whatever is supposed to be a gang or something, but it's such a bizarre choice. The more expansions come out, the more I feel like playing wow is a detriment to my appreciation of the game.
Final complaint (for now), Wickerflame Burnbristle being a Legendary offends me on a personal level.

Yes.

When you play kazakus you get a discovery type interface of 3 choices.

You start with mana cost, 1, 5 or 10 I think. Then you get a choice between 3 effects, then a choice between abother 3 effects. The final card has all those properties. There's suppsoedly 9 total effects in each mana cost, each are basically scaling versions of each other. So 1 mana gets draw a card, 5 is 2 cards and 10 is 3 cards. And etc. So one possible incarnation is 1 mana deal 3 gain 4 armor, or 10 mana draw 3 cards summon 3 random friendly minions that died this game.

Basically he's extremely powerful.

The meta will be dragon priest and reno decks

Agreed. Also, "Mean Streets of Gadgetzan"... I'd rather call these "trails in the sand" than "streets"... ;)

I'm willing to suspend my disbelief that Gadgetzan is actually bigger and more urban in reality, because games are rarely good at portraying cities properly. I have to agree that the portrayal doesn't really fit my understanding of how Gadgetzan looks like though. It's an outskirt, so the 'melting pot'-esque interpretation of it is really strange, both Ratchet and Booty Bay seems more thematic, although the latter would need a pretty heavy Pirate theme.

ok, let's be a bit positive:
I like the new Zombie Chow, I've wanted a card that healed you on DR for a bit now.
Manic Soulcaster seems fun, although it's probably pretty bad in most decks that would want it, because it's 'just' a 3/4 for 3.
Pint-Size Potion gives Priests a new Auchenai-CoH in PSP-SW:H (PSP:Horror?), that can also be used with SW:P, CSP, PoM and during combat, which feels a bit more flexible than Blademaster and Northshire Cleric.
I really hate Patches the Pirate as a design, but I want to use gang up on him and then combo it with Ship's Cannon in some dumb deck.

Being positive is hard. It turns out I generally dislike most things about this set so far.

Its been obvious since league of exploreres that the hearth team is goinf ro take liberties eith the story. As far as im considered hearth is a cwrd game that literally exists in wow and the commonfolk play it. So as mtg has egypt and greek inspired sets, hesrth has karazan and gadgetzan inspired sets.

Well, seems like Hunters, Warriors and Paladins are going to buff the cards in their hands a whole lot.

Isn't this based on Madame Goya as a black markets dealer and expanding out her role?

These cards are getting a bit repetitive, I'll have to say. Triplets guy is cool though.

I don't know. Is it?

Is it any more repetitive than a featured keyword in Magic, though?

I'd say so, just because of relative set sizes.

It feels extra repetitive because this set has three factions, presumably with different mechanics, and they've made the bizarre decision to reveal cards from one faction at a time.

Bizzare for a card game but not for a video game.

It certainly enhanced the feel of it.
It's probably harder to make payoff cards feel more unique, but I would at least expect a Warrior card that gives +0/+X, and a Hunter card that gives +X/+0. I'd also expect to see stuff like giving minions in your hand Divine Shield or Taunt, or reduce the cost. The Legendary could have been "Battlecry: Give a random minion in your hand +2/+2 and this ability."

Alright, so the Kabal has Potions. I'm assuming this is more of a flavorful theme than mechanical one, but maybe there's a few cards that reward you for playing potion spells.
Madam Goya is kind of interesting in Shaman, assuming you don't mind drawing a totem later in the game if your plan doesn't work out.

I think it looks like its really going to shake things up. Will Shaman fall? Not sure. But I'm going to be a lot happier playing Priest now.

I've pre-ordered, plus sitting a 8k+ gold and 3k+ dust jsut waiting for release day.

Well now I'm not so sure. Having watched the stream, those Jade Golems have a very real possibility of being completely unfun to play against and really powerful to boot. Hopefully it's too slow to become meta-defining because it didn't look like fun at all.

Post subject:  Re: New Set: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan

Just checked out the whole set. Jade golem cards are not going to be good. They will only only be good by the third one and before that they are a little under the curve. I doubt it's viability when control and midrange have such insane cards this set
