Post subject: | Help with paladin aggro arena strategy |
Hi all, I've been playing hearthstone for 3-4 weeks now and have done a few arenas. I normally get 3-4 wins. Most of it is due to the lack of card/synergy knowledge. With some bad luck. I normally go 0-2 or 1-2 then I win 3-4 games before losing. I read about heartharena and for me it is great. It points out synergies that I don't see/remember. So for that I love it. BUT! My current problem is I have zero clue how to play paladin aggro. This is my third arena (currently 0-0) with a pally and I'm just plain bad. First I went 1-3 (my win came from someone not playing until turn 5) second I went 0-3. A few things happen to me: 1. Tempo mages destroy me with freezing taunts until they put out creatures that are just better than mine. 2. I run out of steam by turn 7-8 and go into top deck mode 3. It seems like there 3 drops are better than my 2 drops (the same throughout the curve) and I don't see away to trade creatures.. 4. I just suck! Things I have done: 1. I'm a firm believer that knowledge is power so I read more than I play and I play a lot!! 2. I have googled for strategies but I find forums/articles that say control the board early, go to the face late, trade effectively, wipe when it is beneficial for me. That's all great but apparently I do not know how to do that so these don't help me. 3. Watched countless YouTube videos for ideas on how to play. 4. I have built decks that resemble my arena decks(mainly basic cards) and have played them countless times to gain experiance. So I'm here pleading for help. I'm I not googling the right phrases? (I play mtg (use have a 1700 limited rating before I stopped) and it took me time to not search for magic duels origins, as magic duels produces better results. Hence how I found NGA.) I try to be the best I can be but its demoralizing loss after loss when I know I'm better than how I played. Can anyone link me articles or phrases to google that could help me fully understand concepts for Hero classes, arenas Ect. Thanks |

Arena has become more and more unforgiving with time, probably because bad players get discouraged and stop playing it, hence only the most successful ones keep trying.I like to watch Trump's arena runs (he's not the best arena player out there but he's the one I enjoy more because of his politeness and his will to explain the reasoning behind all of his choices), and from what I have seen, a good early game is really rewarding in arena nowadays. Basically, if you can keep making the best trades since the first turns, and leave your opponent's board as empty as possible while developing yours, you have good chances of winning. But that's all theory: putting it into practice is different and it requires experience, which I lack as well. |

I don't know what I can tell you either. My average is probably 5 wins a run at most, maybe slightly less (one day I'll get serious about the format and start tracking I guess.) In general, I would probably just recommend ADWCTA in general. 1) He co-creates the tool Heartharena, which I assume you know about, but if not, you should probably look into it. It helps you make better decks. 2) He hosts videos of arena runs. I haven't really seen much of them, I really only watch his podcast, but they're probably solid. co-op's are kind of cool, since they facilitate discussion. hafu, ratsmah and kripparian are also people that stream arena whom are known to be very solid. idk if they're all that great as tutorials, however. kripp just whines about rng lately, from what I've heard. |
