http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/19995505 Blizzard just announced a new Standard format for Hearthstone! It will be a lot like Magic's (old?) Standard, containing the most recent two years of cards and rotating once a year. Summary

I can't find words to describe how dumb I think this decision is.

If you already own at least one wing of an Adventure before it becomes Wild format only, you’ll be able to unlock and play the remaining wings using in-game gold, but not real money.

I mean, removing the packs is obnoxious, but you just convert your gold into other packs and make it with dust, but losing the experience of the adventures is super rude. |

Unless I missed something, they are going to make the adventures card craftable. I would much rather have crafted the few cards I wanted than pay out 30$ for something I only played once to just get the darn cards. Personally, I am a big fan of this move. |

You can only craft adventure cards if they're not in Standard or if you've already unlocked them through the adventure. I guess most people agree with you, otherwise Blizzard wouldn't have decided to go down this route. On the contrary, I play adventures because I like them, and I bear the frustration of multiplayer just to gather enough gold for the adventures (mostly once a week when the tavern brawl comes out, at least it's more fun than seeing the same decks over and over both on ladder and casual). If there's at least one more player like me that decides to try out Hearthstone for the first time after the change, they won't be able to experience Naxxramas and it will be a pity. The obvious solution would be the following: when an adventure goes out of Standard, they make it free and remove the prizes. People who want to try it out for the sole purpose of seeing it would be able to do that and it wouldn't affect their collection nor their gold.I saw the original announcement and things aren't as harsh as I thought for those who already play: they say that adventures will be available forever for those who unlocked at least the first wing, so the plan is to gather enough gold to open the first wing of each adventure they release, and then open the remaining ones with no rush. |

When an adventure rolls out of Standard they should just make the game mode playable without rewards as part of Solo Adventures. |

I'm more excited about changes to classic and basic cards. |

I enjoyed the adventure games as a bonus to the cards, but with some exceptions I never would have played them for their own sake, much less paid for them. I also can't wait to disenchant 90% of my adventure legendaries. Very interested in the classic/basic card changes as well. Overall, the changes are healthy for the game in the long run, even if I expect to be playing much more Wild than Standard. |

I will definitely be one of the weirdos who mostly plays Standard, but never disenchants any of their old cards because "what if I need them for a brawl or something!" And then my Standard decks will be horrible because I'm F2P and greedy. But despite all that, I'm still excited for Standard to become a thing. |

I've already dusted Rend, those two dudes that summon that 11/11 guy and Majordomo....5000 gold and 4000 dust just waiting for the xpac, although I am not pre-ordering anything until I see more of the set spoiled. If its 16+ cards for each of the 4 old God then I'll be passing on spending any money on the xpac at all. |

I will not be dusting any adventure cards ever because I often play bad cards for the sheer hilarity |
