Yeah, I really want to try out this game, but I'm still waiting for an invite.

To be honest, compared to something like Magic where there is so much to do and so many rules and timings, Hearthstone is pretty boring. But it's simplicity also allows some pretty fun gameplay. It's fairly easy to pick up and understand.

Still waiting for beta key. Then I will grind the heck out of it, get bored and never play again.

Sounds like the basic Blizzard game system I usually follow.

I am really looking forward to this because...dare I say it...the WoW Card game was better than Magic. Mechanically. It was very similar to magic, but combat was more interesting and they fixed magics frustrating resource system. The problem with it was the developers didn't have the depth of understanding and experience that Wizards has on every other, just as important, facets of the game.

See, I hated the concept that you had to build around a hero. I always wanted to mix and match abilities to get something new, but it wasn't allowed. Hearthstone has an incredibly similar system.

This isn't really the same as the WoW card game at all.

There's been several others who have tinkered with the resource system in a very similar way. I believe The Spoils had something of a hybrid where there were different resource types, but you could play any card face down as a colorless resource as well. All in all, I like Magic's resource system, and they never "fixed" it since it just left you with the inability to "multiclass", where as Magic allows you to add in virtually anything you want. They freed up the resources while restricting your options.

It is true that the WoW card game suffered from lack of deck diversity.

It also suffered from a lack of JARAXXUS, EREDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION!

Yeah, while Hearthstone is incredibly streamlined in its design, it's vastly different from the WoW TCG by Cryptozoic.
