I've gotten the impression that the warrior class challenge is trying to push warrio.taunt.dek, while the warlock class challenge is just trying to get you to play things people don't like from TGT (Wilfred anyone?) while showing off ... not really showing off Dark Peddler. Sometimes.

Well I did Temple Escape on Heroic. The obstacles are MUCH MUCH HARDER.

Zinaar took.... longer.

There are three really important things to remember for this fight.

1) He will hit fatigue twice as fast as you do, and his hero power is still on auto-cast in fatigue.
2) All his minions have 5 health or less. The flip side is that his average minion quality has gone up from normal, including a couple mounted raptors.
3) One of the most frustrating parts of the fight actually is that his hero power will make you burn cards.

I ended up beating him with the following mage variant in one try. I never cast Deathwing or Antonidas, and he burnt my Leviathan so that didn't get to go off. So no legendaries needed:

The guy in the middle is definitely going to be the hardest :(.

I beat the 2nd guy on heroic. I GUARANTEE that my particular win is the dumbest thing anyone on here is going to accomplish with any of the heroic bosses. At least today. I forgot to put Inner Fire in the deck, meaning I ended up winning at fatigue with a 4/31 on the board that I kept ramming into his 5/5's. I literally had the dumbest good luck ever, or I wouldn't have been able to win.

EU is late, so I don't have time for heroics. Did all of normal with some random priest deck without any troubles, so that wasn't really worth mentioning. Hit the first boss for something over 20 with a Holy Champion because I could.
Preliminary thoughts for heroic is Tempo Mage; Crazed Alchemist; and how the hell should I know. Freeze Mage or Priest, probably.

Flamewaker is crazy good in the first one.

The second one doesn't have any way to deal with it if you get a big taunt taunt with Divine Spirit, and to be blunt 6 attack is enough to win the fight if you can get both Divine Spirit on a Deathlord. I ended up with a 4/44 rod of Osiris and the main problem after that was figuring out what to do about his 5/5's.

The third one is just a stall game. People beat it with pally (humility, aldor, etc), freeze mage, and Control Warrior.

I didn't read any of that because doing things without help is fun. Well, I did read it now.
Beat first with tempo mage, nothing interesting. Played a Spellbender and Vaporize because why not. Should probably be 2xVaporize instead. He enjoys putting Rockbiter on guys and send them at your face. Took a few tries to get a good opener.
Second one was a bit difficult. Beat him with zoolock after ~6 tries. Fancy inclusions are Owl and Corruption for Staff (and peddler for more Corruption :v), Molten Giant because he loves to hurt you, Defender of Argus for taunt walls, Mistress of Pain for some healing and Eggs for Flamestrike protection. Ooze and Harrison for weapons as well.
Third one I beat on first try with Priest. I don't entirely remember, but it went something like this:
Shadow Word: Death; Big Game Hunter; Annoy-o-Tron; Lightbomb; Doomsayer; Emperor Cobra; Lightbomb; Kill an insect and survive. I played a few other cards, but they had no impact on the game.

After playing around with the stuff, this is my opinion of what shows promise:
- Obsidian Destroyer
- Forgotten Torch
- Rumbling Elemental
- DarK Peddler
- Summoning Stone
- Reno Jackson

^ That's not to say that these are going to turn out to be good. But they've turned out to at least be "okay" with a chance of turning out to be good.

From what I've seen so far, Dark Peddler might as well say "Battlecry: Draw Power Overwhelming".

It's an okay 2 drop and an okay 3 drop, that trades a little power for the fact that it can act as both a 2 drop and a 3 drop. I think it's just confirmation bias, but it seems to offer class cards more often than statistics say should happen (I haven't had a choice yet where I didn't get to choose at least 1 class card, out of like 10).

Arena picks are weighted towards giving class cards, so it's not impossible.

My friend has been playing it A LOT and he says he's never not gotten a choice of a class card.
... No that is actually a thing. Between me and him I'm pretty sure it's not completely random. There is some sort of weighting going on.

I am now convinced that Reno Jackson is VERY good. That one health swing is so big that it can singlehandedly be the reason you win a match. Because of it, I was able to go 3-0 with a 30 legendary deck (2 out of the 3 wins, vs midrange hunter; the other one was vs a mage). That's how much of power boost it can give a deck, despite severe consistency issues. When tested in more "ladder viable" decks with a decent curve (albeit still 30 singletons), the results are way better than that. I'm predicting it right now. Someone is going to find a way to make this work in some control version of warrior, mage, or priest and it's going to be very very powerful.

According to Reddit, class cards have 4 times the chance to be discovered compared to neutrals.

Does that mean it chooses from (class cards×4) + (neutral cards), or that for each card you are offered, it's a 4/5th chance of it being a class card?

It's more complicated than that? Looking at their math, it changes upon what class you pick. But jeweled scarab at a minimum has a 30% chance for each to be a class card, and for Peddler it's about 50%. The math seems reasonable.

They also say that your odds across all 3 of getting a specific class card are about 10%? I don't understand that one.

So basically, Dark Peddler only has a 1 in 8 chance of not offering you any class cards at all. This means you have an 87.5% chance at choosing 1 of their 7 1 drop cards. The obvious duds are Corruption and Blood Imp, but the other 5 choices are good enough that I think it's much higher value than advertised.

Looked at the list of cards for Thursday again. I'm excited. There isn't anything on the list that I don't at least want to try out (like the scarab from this week).

So the math behind discover. Basically, each class card is weighted 4x when a discover card is played. So if you had a large bag full of bingo balls, and each one had a card name written on it, every neutral card gets 1 ball in the bag and every class card gets 4.

So for example Dark Peddler. There are 29 neutral 1 drops, and 7 warlock class cards. Thus, you have a (7*4)/(7*4 + 29), or 28/57, chance of each of the three cards (this is with replacement, without replacement it's slightly different which is the actual reality of the thing) being a class card for Dark Peddler's trigger.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I think all the cards are at least somewhat interesting.

Tunnel Trogg, Tomb Spider, Excavated Evil, and Ethereal Conjurer are at least worth trying.

Unearthed Raptor, Fierce Monkey, Brann Bronzebeard, Mounted Raptor, and Keeper of Uldaman are all likely to be good cards, although some of them might be 1-ofs.

And Reliquary Seeker is at least doable, so it will be fun to play around with for a little bit. The actual card is too inconsistent but I want to get it off a couple times and win just to freak people out (already have a deck for that with 2 empty slots).

That wing was too easy. The minecart thing took several times though, it's too rng dependent.
