Was this card created before or after Elspeth, Sun's Champion?

I believe before, but Flopfoot can confirm/deny that

This card was posted on the Mothership three years before Theros came out.

The reminder text is cute.

I'm curious if the reminder text was part of the original card. I know I did the same thing on Bounded Noble to make fun of CKY complaining that Leprechaun Dinghy's tokens made flying.

As the official leader of the Willing to Click a Couple of Links Squad, I can confirm that the original card didn't have reminder text.

now the last remaining question is whether CKY added it immediately or if it was to bring it in line with Noble

It was added immediately with Flopfoot's blessing.

Going forward the card in question should probably be autocarded into articlebot's post.

This.

I had no idea what this card did and now I know how everyone else feels.

well I think the point is that you're supposed to go read the article 'cause I have a whole blurb and everything.

plus I don't know how well the software handles that since it seems to be doing the same thing for all articles. I mean, ideally I think the daily card should probably just have a thread each week, but I don't know how robust articlebot is to tampering.

Pretty sure the point of having a front page is having people actually look at it...

I dunno, I commented in the article section of the wizards forums without reading the articles plenty of times...

Do you think that is fair with the person who wrote the article?

do you think a forum should value fairness to article writers over convenience of forum users?

If the article writer is also a (volunteer) forum user, yes.

honestly, I don't really mind. and since you can't autocard anyone else's articles, I don't think it really matters. if Welder can make it work such that articlebot posts an autocarded version of the card, I'd be cool with that.

This is my problem as well. Granted, anybody could link Mott, Protector of Dodos and solve this within one post, but as we've seen, this doesn't always happen. Maybe if the full text and imagery of the article was in the article bot's post? Not sure how the phb forum software would handle the wordpress front page formatting though. Maybe there's a copy/paste w/ formatting option that will work? Could also post the whole front page blurb as an image, but that seems like an extreme solution.
