I would definately not cut creepers over disperse for starters. If anything, The myrs are weaker. yes they block random dudes, but they fail vs better aggro. Question is, in this deck, is landfixing more important over a random card ? I would say it is. Is a random card more important than a 'can sometimes kill a 3 toughness guy or force opponent to play around a 2 for 1' My answer would be : yes, if you have something to shore up that early removal gap (4 disperse, or even clutch).

First cuts : -4 myr, -2 Natural Connection -1 forest +2 Displacement Wave +4 Disperse +1 island.

I figured there's really not enough basics to run 4 connection and 2 Renewal; but the Renewal is probably needed, and the connection might be less so. This just becomes sooooooo durdly and disgusting

Well, before playing it, I'll tell you, this deck dies to evasion. You are right btw, rdw will laugh at you; some myrs and 1/1's and 0/2's is not enough to disrupt them, and 2 Languish is way too little too late. I'm gonna analyze this deck and see if its's salvageable, because, I VE BEEN MOSSED ENOUGH ITS TIME FOR PAYBACK.

YESSSSS LET THE HATE FLOW THROUGH YOU

As expected, Disperse is a must run in this deck.

Just survived a t2 creeper t3 pilgrimage t4 moss t5 Sower t6 Splinters your creeper, wanna block my 5/8 with jace? no ? your Kiora dies then. Here I'll follow it up with Greenwarden getting back splinters and splinters your jace. Enter Disperse. Congrats bro you have 2 cards left, my handsize is .... 7 + my graveyard :D

3 turns later opponent had ragequit after multiple Greenwarden / disperse iterations. I love having a 10+ 'handsize'. Killed AI with Krakens

Basically the deck plays like an Durdly version of Simic ramp, but instead of maximum consistency of the core strategy and a splash of flames to help with aggro, you invest deep into black and can go Overloaded Cyclonic Rift ad nauseam :D
I'm pretty sure oni, Languish and the skaabs aren't worth the consistency hit that you take over just running a mountain, 2 cinder glades and 2 Radiant Flames in Blue/red though. When the deck DOES get there, it has power in spades ofc. Deck dies to opposing moss like you wouldn't believe.

For Comparison :

Ah, I ment black green :D

Not really played any elves in BfZ. Have come across a few people playing them. Do you think your version is better than with black?
Been running something like this, but it's just a deck from last set tweaked a tiny bit:

@Babas: That list looks like a lot of fun to play.
I am surprised to not see you run any of the checklands; it seems like you always want to have a Forest in play and I think I like Hinterland Harbor and Woodland Cemetary better than Sunken Hollow and Praerie Stream.
Also I'm not convinced running Cinder Glade is worth it just for the fifth color on Skyrider Elf; is dodging Languish really enough of a reason?.

I figured why not have the red, but yes if I do come across mana problems that would be what I cut first

prairie stream is a plains and there for needed for sunblade elf, feel free to play with the battle lands that don't have white tho

This is very much a work in progress, quite a few cards are up in the air and the mana base might change entirely. But it's won some fun games so I'll share though it's never going to be a top deck. Surprised it's done as well as it has though, started doing some games with it expecting to tank my ranking, but I've not dropped.

1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
3 x Screeching Skaab
1 x Liliana, Heretical Healer
2 x Graveblade Marauder
3 x Fleshbag Marauder
2 x Reclamation Sage
3 x Complete Disregard
2 x Gravedigger
2 x Languish
3 x Bitter Revelation
3 x Possessed Skaab
2 x Cruel Revival
3 x Necromantic Summons
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Oblivion Sower
2 x Gaea's Revenge
2 x Plated Crusher
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

2 x Island
5 x Swamp
2 x Forest
2 x Lumbering Falls
2 x Sunken Hollow
2 x Woodland Cemetary
2 x Drowned Catacomb
2 x Hinterland Harbor
4 x Evolving Wilds

Deck wants to fill graveyard then summon back on t5. If I didn't want Sage I'd be tempted to remove all green mana sources, though I have hard-cast GR a couple times. Oblivin Sower doesn't fit that well, it's nice as ramp when hard-cast but a terrible summons target. Complete Disregard is in due to instant speed though it works against reanimation.

edit - and then I lost 3 in a row :D don't play this if you care about your ranking

Hi, AD2016. Some time ago i've built this deck which has the same goal of yours, and i've been pretty successful with hit.

3 x Salvage Drone
1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
3 x Gatecreeper Vine
2 x Disperse
2 x Gather the Pack
1 x Liliana, Heretical Healer
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 x Reclamation Sage
2 x Spell Shrivel
3 x Artificer's Epiphany
2 x Languish
1 x Kiora, Master of the Depths
3 x Possessed Skaab
3 x Necromantic Summons
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
2 x Alhammarret, High Arbiter
2 x Gaea's Revenge
1 x Plated Crusher
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

5 x Island
3 x Swamp
4 x Forest
2 x Sunken Hollow
2 x Woodland Cemetary
2 x Drowned Catacomb
2 x Hinterland Harbor
4 x Evolving Wilds

Some Notes:
Salvage Drone In my opinion is a better version of Screeching Skaab in this deck, due to the fact that allows you a draw and discard a big card for later ressurection.
Gather the Pack Good card for filling the graveyard, mostly be looking for Possessed Skaab and Greenwarden of Murasa they can bring back any spell, creature etc that goes to the graveyard this way. Also does a excelent combo with Jace... turn 3 fliped Jace is Awesome!!.
Artificer's Epiphany Self included card in my opinion. Draw 2 cards and get to discard a card of my choice.
Kiora, Master of the Depths A must, the second ability is really good for the purpose of this deck
Greenwarden of Murasa iv'e cut 1 Possessed Skaab for this. Pays 1 more mana, but the bigger body and the fact that it doesnt self exile when he dies, which gives us the option of resurrection.
Alhammarret, High Arbiter Maybe cut this to 1 copy, really powerfull card, especially on turn 5 because it can freeze your opponent.

Hope this can help you turn around the 3 losses :D

Hmm, been thinking about some of those cards for sure. Didn't think of Salvage Drone, and yeah that's better than the Skaab. I was trying to keep as many black cards as possible so that mana would be easy which is why Alhammarat isn't included, maybe I should try it though, works great in my black/blue deck.

Been in two minds between Artificers and Bitter Revelations, the first lets you discard from hand which is great but the second lets you discard 2. I guess with Gather the Pack there's less pressure on getting cards into the graveyard. Hmm. Adding the disperse and counters seems ok, though the creature count goes down quite a bit.

Playing some aggro decks atm, but you've given me some stuff to think about tomorrow, thanks!

edit - actually, ima take a break, last 4 games I've had mana starve in every one, last game mulliganed all creatures three times, had to settle on 1 land start. Shuffler hates me atm :D

Anyone up for a deck without any non-creature spells?

So, after a bit of testing babassoonist's deck, this is where I'll settle with Sultai Converge Elves. Credits for this deck go to her.

Creatures (36):
3 x Sunblade Elf

3 x Dwynen's Elite
4 x Elvish Visionary
3 x Skyrider Elf

3 x Jagged-Scar Archers
1 x Nissa, Vastwoood Seer
3 x Reclamation Sage
3 x Shaman of the Pack
4 x Tajuru Stalwart

2 x Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen
4 x Lys Alana Huntmaster
2 x Woodland Wanderer

1 x Woodland Bellower

Lands (24):
1 x Plains
2 x Island
2 x Swamp
7 x Forest
2 x Praerie Stream
2 x Canopy Vista
2 x Woodland Cemetary
2 x Hinterland Harbor
4 x Evolving Wilds

(Changes from baba's decklist: +2 Woodland Wanderer, +1 Swamp, +2 Woodland Cemetary, +2 Hinterland Harbor;
-2 Natural Connection, -1 Forest, -2 Sunken Hollow, -2 Cinder Glade )

So yeah, very few changes to baba's decklist; basically messing around with the manabase a bit and adding Woodland Wanderer over the only non-creature spells in her list.
Sounds insane, works out nicely.

Thought about the discard/reanimate thing some more and I've ended up going for more ramp so that there's more ways of getting stuff out and I hate getting mana screwed. Been playing this in 2H mode, probably needs a bellower/sage thing going for 1v1.

1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
4 x Gatecreeper Vine
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
3 x Spell Shrivel
3 x Artificer's Epiphany
3 x Natural Connection
2 x From Beyond
2 x Languish
3 x Mwonvuli Acid-Moss
1 x Kiora, Master of the Depths
1 x Disciple of the Ring
2 x Possessed Skaab
2 x Necromantic Summons
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Sire of Stagnation
1 x Oblivion Sower
1 x Part the Waterveil
2 x Nissa's Renewal
2 x Gaea's Revenge
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

3 x Island
2 x Swamp
5 x Forest
2 x Lumbering Falls
2 x Sunken Hollow
2 x Woodland Cemetary
1 x Drowned Catacomb
2 x Hinterland Harbor
1 x Mortuary Mire
1 x Dimir Guildgate
1 x Golgari Guildgate
1 x Simic Guildgate

It'd be nice to fit in the 4th moss (connection>moss>sire is brutal) and some Disperse, but I don't really want to cut anything and 23 lands feels about right. It's a really fun deck in 2H, bit slow at the start but once it gets going there're so many options. Ulamog seems to come out every game either through ramp or summons. It's moved quite far away from my original list but the ramp feels really strong and it cuts down on games where I'm sitting waiting for rng to give me land.

edit - tried it out in 1v1 today, went 4-0 at rank 40. I was getting very nice openings and draws so not sure if that's a fair result. Beat RDW, thopter, allies and some kind of mill (I think) that never landed tutelage.

Been having a lot of fun with this deck, based around one I read and other mill decks. Mill is pretty much the only win condition, you're mainly relying on spells to stay alive/block.

I haven't unlocked most of Zendikar, so don't have access to cards like Ob Nyx, but any thoughts/substitutions?

Fog Mill

4 x Fog

1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
4 x Elvish Visionary
4 x Alchemist's Vial
3 x Telling Time
2 x Disperse

1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
3 x Sphinx's Tutelage
2 x Hydrolash
4 x Artificer's Epiphany

1 x From Beyond
(Only have one)
2 x Talent of the Telepath
2 x Languish

3 x Possessed Skaab
------------------------------------
5 x Island
5 x Swamp
4 x Forest

2 x Woodland Cemetary
2 x Drowned Catacomb
2 x Hinterland Harbor
4 x Evolving Wilds
