I don't like how your deck is not focused enough.
On one hand you try to be very aggressive and kill your opponent quickly (Landfall with Retreat to Valakut); on the other hand you try to ramp towards your big threats that you play late in the game.
These strategies do not go well together, as you don't want to draw half your deck when going for either strategy; so I'd focus on one of them.

If you're going down the Landfall route, cut most of the Ramp spells and expensive finishers for some combat tricks and more early aggression. If you're going down the Ramp route, cut the aggressive cards for utility creatures as well as another finisher or two.

retreat to valakut is a card that you don't want a full play set of, I'd only run 2, at most, usually only 1

Do you need all 7 ramp spells? Your mana curve looks pretty low to be using all that, though I guess they buff your landfall creatures a little. Would it maybe be better to have some buffs and removal instead? Fiery Impulse and Might of the Masses or Primal Bellow are both cheap enough to weave in with drops and can be pretty nasty. Having said that I've not given the list a try and maybe the ramp works well.

That's pretty close to Hakeem's version of his landfall aggro deck. I think he posted it on his channel, and Mobius has a version too. Those lands that give +1/+1 and First Strike are awesome in a deck like this.. so is Slab Hammer.

oh yeah, nix the gruul guild gates and add in looming spires (at the very least. I'd try to find 2 more lands to cut for the other copies)

Preferred Pronoun Set: Xhir/xhim, depending on Moon phase
I'm playing CGB's Gruul ramp but with a twist...+ 2 Chanda's Ignitions, -1 Fiery - 1 Desolation Twin

The reasoning is...Gruul Ramp is weak basically only against thopters/tokens or flyers...so 2 more sweepers can be key. Ignitions are just that, even fired upon Sages/Nissa or lol, scions against a lot of */1-2 swarms...and it's easy to cast turn 5... late game is autowin, as always, of course

Working for the moment...let's see after a dozen games against wide decks

Edit: Ok, I can see why CGB didn't like the idea...Ignitions tend to appear at the worst moments, lol...it's clearly a curse...anyways, with Reincarnations and Wanderers and without mosses, it's kinda brutal...back to the Origins, lol

All three Slab Hammer is a bit much.. I think you could cut one for a land.. or more creatures. Your creature count vs pump spells ratio is very, very off. 16 creatures in an aggressive deck? You're being too cute. Cut the Primal Bellows and run.. I dunno.. Undercity Troll or something.

Where's Exquisite Firecraft? You could probably flip Chandra in this list. Molten Vortex seems superior out of place in a deck that wants to trigger landfall, that only runs 22 land.

Yeah, that's weird...maybe to disconcert the opponent?

The deck I'm using in the ios tournament which went undefeated in the bo3 games.

Timothy's Favourite Deck

4 x Gatecreeper Vine
3 x Rolling Thunder
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2 x Radiant Flames
4 x Nissa's Pilgrimage
3 x Zendikar Incarnate
2 x From Beyond
4 x Mwonvuli Acid-Moss
2 x Outland Colossus
2 x Chandra's Ignition
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
2 x Oran-Rief Hydra
1 x Oblivion Sower
2 x Nissa's Renewal
2 x Plated Crusher
1 x Omnath, Locus of Rage
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

6 x Mountain
12 x Forest
2 x Cinder Glade
2 x Rootbound Crag
1 x Canopy Vista

Sideboard:
3 x Jaddi Offshoot
4 x Fiery Impulse
2 x Twin Bolt
2 x Reclamation Sage
1 x Woodland Bellower
2 x Gaea's Revenge
1 x Plated Crusher

Non-standard card choices:
Zendikar Incarnate - early threat, and allows a t5 sweep with Chandra's Ignition which is really useful vs thopters, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar and weenies. It's useful even in late game as you can drop it with 9 mana and cast Chandra's Ignition for 9 damage to the face and board wipe.
Chandra's Ignition - one of my favourite cards in the game. Great wipe, great reach. You have to watch out for the bounce or instant removal though.
Plated Crusher - I prefer playing Crusher over Gaea's Revenge as it has trample and doesn't care about those pesky thopters and can be targeted with Chandra's Ignition
Oran-Rief Hydra - great cards with Ignition, great card late game, terrible vs removal and bounce

Cards I didn't pick which are usually standard:
Fiery Impulse and Twin Bolt - they are nice early in the game, but it really sucks drawing them late in the game when you need threats. That's as my early game counters I use Radiant Flames, Chandra's Ignition (4 sweepers), Rolling Thunder and Jaddi Offshoot.
Gaea's Revenge - nonbo with Ignition and can be chump blocked for ages.

Sideboard picks:
Jaddi Offshoot, Fiery Impulse, Twin Bolt - vs aggro decks
Reclamation Sage, Woodland Bellower - vs enchantment decks
Gaea's Revenge, Plated Crusher - vs control heavy decks with counters, bounce or removal

Changes I'd probably make after playing the tournament or if there weren't sideboards:
Jaddi Offshoot has proven to be an MVP vs aggro decks, if it comes down on turn 1 it's pretty much gg, I'd definitely add it to the mainboard. I'd probably replace the 3x Zendikar Incarnate or 2x Oran-Rief Hydra and 1x Zendikar Incarnate. This way the deck gets more versatile, but looses some oomph. I really like the hydra, but if you encounter bounce or removal she loses a lot of value.

If you guys have any questions, I'll try to answer :-)

Surprised you didnt have Ravaging Blaze in there thats another big finisher with all those cards to ramp for land but Chandra's Ignition probably fills that though, but still very nice build good luck in semis.

this is a deck I'm enjoying at the mo, based on covert go blue gruul ramp deck, then I changed it quite a bit and its a different animal now

dwarfs standing on the shoulders of giants

3 x jaddi offshoot
4 x gatecreeper vine
2 x evolutionary leap
3 x valakut invoker
1 x nissa, vastwood seer
2 x reclamation sage
4 x nissa's pilgrimage
3 x kird chieftain
2 x primal huntbeast
2 x from beyond
2 x nissa's renewal
3 x zendikar incarnate
1 x woodland bellower
1 x omnath, locus of rage
2 x eldrazi devastator
1 x ulamog, the ceaseless hunger
7 x mountain
13 x forest
2 x cinder glade
2 x rootbound crag

got some early blockers with a bit of poke, meaty mid game players to keep opponent busy, valakut snipping if she's got nothing better to do, ramping all the while until the big girls swing in to party

Just posting this here for the Deck List, because I'm too lazy to find an original build... etc...

Gruul Ramp

Creatures (16)
4 x Gatecreeper Vine
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2 x Reclamation Sage
2 x Outland Colossus
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Oblivion Sower
1 x Woodland Bellower
1 x Omnath, Locus of Rage
2 x Gaea's Revenge
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

Spells (21)
4 x Fiery Impulse
3 x Rolling Thunder
2 x Radiant Flames
4 x Nissa's Pilgrimage
2 x From Beyond
4 x Mwonvuli Acid-Moss
2 x Nissa's Renewal

Lands (23)
1 x Canopy Vista
2 x Cinder Glade
2 x Rootbound Crag
6 x Mountain
12 x Forest

I take no credit for this list, it's CGBs Gruul list from the tournament with a single card changed. This is an absolutely dominant deck.

Does anybody else have mana problems in starting hand with this deck? You would think with all the mana fixers it wouldn't be an issue, but I think it needs 24 land. What to drop though?

Nope...in fact, it's the deck less prone to, probably
