Man, i love Infectious Bloodlust so much. That card is SICK (that's for Hakeem).

It's like an Evolving Wilds on crack. I finally got my 4th one and run in my 3 mono-reds and it's glorious. I tried it in Boros and Jund and was underwhelmed though.

i personally miss Infectious Bloodlust in darkstars deck... its superaggro and its more than 1 spell, as the unit dies, because you get another. and mage-ring-bully has no downside to it. haste is also useful

you could do:
- 2x whirler rogue
- 2x Soulblade Djinn
and
+ 4x Infectious Bloodlust
with my deck.

i would keep the 2 soulblade djinns and remove one dragon fodder and one fiery impulse. but maybe i just like to play the djinns for flavour, not sure if they are 100% worth it, but i like them.

This is my izzet artifact deck. Criticize away.

4x Perilous Myr
2x Alchemist's Vial
4x Twinbolt
3x Esperzoa
3x Chief of the Foundry
3x Thopter Engineer
4x Claustrophobia
1x Ghirapur Aether Grid
4x Artificer's Epiphany
3x Whirler Rogue
3x Reclusive Artificer
2x Thopter Spy Network
11x Island
8x Mountain
2x Sulfur Falls
3x Foundry of the Consuls

Most of the artifact generators that didn't make the deck aren't in there because they are overcosted and not worth it. Thopter Engineer and Whirler Rogue are not. The only card I left out is Chandra's parents, which I kind of regret and would be very willing to accept opinions on. It's not in there because I wanted to aggressively avoid dual red. This is why nothing in the deck has more than a single :r: in its cost.

Alchemist's Vial is a nice little doo-dad, but it's not good enough to be a 4 of over some of the other inclusions. It shows up often enough to do what I want at 2, and more than 1 doesn't really provide a major benefit.

I have used bonded construct and runed servitor in the past, and to be honest I'm not convinced on either. Giving your opponent the draw on servitor really hurts, and bonded construct is kind of hit or miss (but I would be willing to try it again if someone can give a good enough argument).

The curve doesn't go past 4..... because I don't see the point.

YUCK

you can squeeze in a Willbreaker for fun

you don't like the 2/2 dude that draws a card? That's my favourite 2 drop in Thopters going into Chief

I really don't think Esperzoa is good here, what is Claustraphobia doing in this? I'm not a fan of Epiphany nor the Vial. I use my Spy Networks for draw. You need more Control cards to get you there.

You need the ruined servitors to get your artifact count up fast for your Artificer and your Spy Network. Think tribal deck constructs here, in Elf you would never play anything over 4 mana, you need lots of little guys that get buffed and synergized with all the cool stuff like Chief, Grid and such

Where are Chandra's parents?!?

esperzoa is here to recur vial obviously

oh and it's a 4/3 flyer for 3 which is insane

and your artifact count doesn't matter to spy network you just need 1

In order:

- I don't think so.

- That defeats the point of the rest of your post.

- Esperzoa is negotiable. It's been doing a lot of work, especially with haste (a recurring 4/3 haste is actually decent; as well as a 4/3 blocker) or vials. But I can be convinced to remove it.

- Claustrophia is winning games. That's what it is doing in this.

- Epiphany and the vial provide a lot of draw, and the vial activates a large number of effects for "free". For example, spy network plus vial means they need a reclamation sage for an out most games.

- This is why Claustrophia is in the deck.

- This is what Vials are for, and they do it better without giving my opponent's things (I hate Languish btw). Most of my wins come from evasive fliers anyways.

- Chandra's Parents cost :r::r: to play. That is where they went. If you can suggest a reasonable swap, along with adjustments to my land base, I'll strongly consider putting them back in.

Bassoon, yes but you still need one. moar two-drops increases the odds of that happening. You really want to be dropping Spy Network on a T4 main phase right before you are attacking to connect

i dislike the esperzoa/vial combo. I don't think tribal decks should have combos in them, just synergy.

Jack, you do what you want with my comments. You asked for a critique and there it is. I find one copy of Willbreaker to be insane with Grid, Twin Bolt, Whirler Rogue, etc.

Surely you can replace Claustraphobia with something else that is winning games. Maybe Equisite Firecraft, I dunno.

and barney while reclusive artificer is good it is no shaman of the pack not really worth building a deck around it it just happens to work with a deck that was already gonna be a thing

-4 Artificer's Epiphany

+2 Alchemist Vial
+2 Chandra's Parents

The deck draws fine with Vials (for Esperoza) and Spy Network. I also feel Aether Grid sucks ass.. I'd rather have copy of Exquisite Firecraft.. which is worth 4 activations of Aether Grid without tapping down possible attackers.

@Megabeast, I'll try your swaps.

Aether Grid isn't for doing face damage. That's just a bonus that rarely matters. The real value of the card is it lets you ping 1 and 2 health creatures to death without permanently setting your board back or spending a card each time you want to do this. This is useful for getting rid of certain problem creatures that only have 1 or 2 health.

I feel Chandra's parents do Aether Grid's job pretty well, while offering insane value at the same time if said job isn't needed.

How has Reclusive Artificer been for you? When I ran it.. it didn't do too much for me.. but I got whacked pretty good by it the other day when I was doing my 10-in-a-row post with my Temur deck.

I think aether grid does i better to be honest, because it doesn't cost mana and you don't have to sacrifice anything. Chandra's Parents have the same problem as undercity troll, and they are most valuable because they get the two thopters to come with them.

Reclusive Artificer is decent spot removal for something small to midrange, and the haste is a couple free damage most of the time.

Chandra's parents' main role is to create two tokens that are hopefully hasted. The only time they use their ability is mostly when you need to deal 4 damage to something sacing a Myr

It would be pretty badass if it wasn't a 4 drop.. Shaman of the Pack is a 3 drop isn't it? That card wins games all day for Elf decks.
