Testing results; Cogo temur:

--------------------------------------------------
G1, Rank 40, opponent plays a temur list that seems to be close to the one I posted at : viewtopic.php?p=390305#p390305 but with Gatekreepers instead of gnarlids.
On the draw....

I curve Gnarlid into 3pt Skyrider into evolving wilds, with a Outland Colossus and a firecraft followup.
Opponent Gatekreeper into 3pt Skyrider t4 5/5Woodland Wanderer T5 Chandra's Ignition on his Skyrider. I figure that I can drop colossus to block Wanderer and Firecraft his Skyrider, but he even has the Firecraft Reach in hand.

Ok so he had a nutdraw. 1 thing to note though: If i'm running 26 land and Firecraft myself, why the hell am I not running Chandra's Ignition ?

LOSS
--------------------------------------------------

G2, Rank 34, Sultaifog.
On the draw again...

I keep gnarlid into skyrider with lumbering falls firecraft followup; drew many further good threats, but drew both Brutal Expulsions.
He has (on the play) T3 guardian of meletis t4 tutelage + fog, he has reave soul + jace, languish, a skaabfog, a SECOND tutelage, hydrolash and another fog.
I think I played close to optimally, and I got milled out with him on 1 life.

1 thing to note : 4 mana is alot to try and be tricky with in a deck that wants to put out pressure. Maybe Brutal Expulsion doesn't fit here?

LOSS
--------------------------------------------------

G3, Rank 38 Golgaripea
On the draw again ? Boy i'm such a lucksack!

Decide to keep a very tempting 3 lander with good potential (got a wanderer, a skyrider, a pulse, Akoum firebird,.
Game goes well, Opponent quits T5 after his obnixilis dies. Cheatyface AI takes over, Huge attrition follows, I draw 6 land in a row, AI draws perfect curve and perfect topdecks. Particularly liked consecutive Gaea's revenges from top of the deck.

LOSS

Why is Coastal discovery in here instead of Kiora? Oh and Clutch of currents kinda sucks vs value etb critters.
--------------------------------------------------

G4, Rank 36 Monoblack mid range
On the play !

Leopard, T2 evolving wilds vs a 3/1 that can't block into double Krasis, AND an abbot for later? NOW we are talking !
Opponent T2 Despoiler of Souls T3 liliana T4 Erebos Titan (not bad :o); thinks for like 5 minutes before making the wrong decision and swinging his Liliana into my first krasis :p. He has a gravedigger to get her back, but I am able to somehow win through that ****. If he had kept his lilly back T3 or if he had drawn Languish/fleshbag I would've had 0 chance.

WIN
--------------------------------------------------

G5, Rank 40 Boros Pants
On the play !

Mull first 7 because unplayable hand, Second 7 has 2 land T2 Gnarlid, A skyrider, A krasis, A woodland Wanderer, and a pulse; but no mountain. HMMMM, hey we run 26 land. This only needs a third land to get going and becomes pretty good if I draw a mountain.
Don't see another land before T6. Get so salty I miss his lethal (forgot firebreathing on one of his dudes), but game was in the 0.05% percentile by then anyway.

LOSS
--------------------------------------------------

G6, Rank 40 RDW
On the draw again...

Have a very good hand, so does he. Pulse snipes his early drop, we trade some early plays, but I am still salty fom last game + writing my report whilst playing, so I don't play around act of treason and get bitchslapped by my own 12/12 colossus.
This is a WIN for the deck. Pure pilot error. LOSS for me.
--------------------------------------------------

G7, rank 29 Gruul ramp
On the play !

Not much to say. Guy had a bad keep. Gnarlid Into counter your moss, T4 wanderer T5 colossus and he never got going.

WIN
--------------------------------------------------

G8, rank 32 Temur .... lifegain? Yeah once you are off the rank 40 train in steam you see some .... weird stuff.
On the draw again....

Keep 3 lander with gnarlid into Krasis into Firebird into clutch + ANOTHER krasis, a wanderer, a colossus....
He survives the onslaught at 1 life, thanks to a timely renewal, lots of stall; Then he plays a sower that gains him like 10000000 life thanks to hitting 4 lands (1evolving wilds) with an offshoot and a retreat in play.
I still win, since he apparently draws 0 other threats.

WIN but that looked like a pretty loose deck to me.
--------------------------------------------------

G9, rank 39 Gruul Ramp
On the draw again....

5 land, 1 land, Hinterland harbor + evolving wilds + 2 skyrider 1 wanderer 1 clutch...... and get mossed and radiant flamesed.

LOSS
--------------------------------------------------

G10, rank 40 Gruul Ramp (same guy)
On the draw again....

He keeps a greedy hand and I curve T1 leopard T2 Skyrider T3 counter your Pilgrimage. I keep drawing tempo plays and the turn before he quits, I have him discarding to handsize.

WIN
--------------------------------------------------

Went 4/6 de facto; should've been 5/5 de jure. Still mulling over what it all means.

I have a feeling that desspite the 26 land, the deck doesn't curve out well enough to take full advantage of all the tempo cards (clutch/pulse/Expulsion/Krasis is the only one that is ALWAYS good)
consistently. Note how I went on the play only 3 times in this series. Cards like Gnarlid and Leopard do not like that.

Might as well go on with my version:

G1
VS Slab Hammer Mid range landfall rank 40
On the Draw...

Very fun game, but then he drew Hydra into Nissa's renewal , what can I say. Managed to trade off a 15/15 hydra, but then he drew anoher one. whatever.

LOSS
---------------------------
G2 Gruul Ramp rank 40
On the Draw...
Very good hand, pressure non stop, but here's his hand:
T1 Offshoot into T2 gate into T3 ramp into moss into the maw of hell into platedcrusher ignite you. LOL.

LOSS
---------------------------
G3 Golgari sacs rank 30

On the play.

Got a great curve again.
Doesn't matter.
Double blisterpod into altar's reap into smothering abo into Eyeless watcher into thrall + evolpea into liliana into **** THIS ****, NOT DOING ALL THIS MATH.

Guy wins on 3 life with Akoum firebird inexplicably sitting in my hand turn 12. ridiculous.

LOSS
---------------------------

G4 Gruul Ramp rank 32

Nothing to report. Dude had a failed build from what I saw.

WIN
---------------------------

G5 Sacdos rank 40

Guy plays well. I try to play around him, but even 2 krasis, a drowner and conservative play, fail to overcome his huskstealsacroguepassage plan.

LOSS
---------------------------

Conclusion:

If i'm gonna go bigger, then my version needs more reliable removal. Gnarlids have been awful vs all the chumps, Krasis is great but not good enough as standalone tempo element... and Ignition never shows its face. 3/3 fliers are also only meh.

also:

Either I'm doing it wrong, or, in the current environment, Temur tempo/mid range does not exist. It just doesn't seem worth it to muddle the mana instead of staying focused gruul/simic and just go more aggro/much bigger.

I'd have thought Bant tempo made more sense. It's seems like an easier deck to build IMO.

There might be a halfway point between mine and cogo's, but I really don't think the mana is there to make it great.
I've started tweaking again, but i keep getting stomped by mono/dual colour aggro or laughed at by ramp. Pretty depressing ^^ compared to how easy it is to sleeve on virtually ANY true ramp colour combo and go 75%.

Current midway point:

Mid-range temur

3 x Fiery Impulse
2 x Clutch of Currents
3 x Gatekreeper Vine
3 x Skyrider Elf

1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
3 x Bounding Krasis
3 x Natural Connection
2 x Exquisite Firecraft

1 x Akoum Firebird
2 x Whirler Rogue
2 x Woodland Wanderer
2 x Zendikar Incarnate
1 x Kiora, Master of the Depths

2 x Chandra's Ignition
1 x Rolling Thunder

2 x Drowner of Hope
2 x Plated Crusher

4 x Island
4 x Mountain
4 x Forest
2 x Lumbering Falls
2 x Cinder Glade
2 x Rootbound Crag
2 x Hinterland Harbor
2 x Sulfur Falls
3 x Izzet Guildgate

So far 3/0..... but I'm far from convinced.

Something to be said about cutting Incarnates and whirler rogues in favour for Pia and Kiran and abbots maybe?

I honestly don't think so. Azorius has a decent tempo deck, as does Simic. Therefore Bant should also be good. There really isn't any synergy to go to Temur, IMO. Now, Jeskai, on the other hand, might be decent.

Edit: so this has me thinking. You do the full compliment of return to hand/top of deck. You run prowess creatures and splashable burn. You lose sky rider and Krasis though, but tbh, I don't think that matters that much as the whole deck is basically sorcery speed. If you build it right you still get to run whirler rogue - which is just as good as it always was.

You are probably right. I just want excuses to play Woodland Wanderer, kiora, ignition, sower and krasis outside simic :p

Bant bro, Bant. You just lose ignition. And what is a conditional 5 drop removal spell doing in tempo in the first place.

So... /lazy, but maybe something along these lines:
http://decks.deckedbuilder.com/d/141317

Not sure about soulblade djinn, but there are so many other options, just remove them... User's choice. Mana should be smooth in this deck (but I'm being lazy), etc... Screw it, just use exquisite fire craft instead, for example.

Edit: actually screw that... Lose the Djinns and Expulsion, add 4 disperse, which I forgot about.

Edit2: meta depending, -x Cubs, +x dragon fodder

Play notes: mulligan any hand that doesn't contain the ability to put 2 power on the board on t2.

Build notes: it's possible I've over booked the 2 slot with this concept. So, consider moving one or two out for a couple 3 or 4 drops, but I think this feels right as is, so test first, change later, IMO.

Someone on ios is playing an interesting temur deck I'm interested in. But I am hesitant to fill in the gaps as it feels very non-intuitive to me.
I've played it a couple times and it does a surprisingly good job of beating whatever I'm playing.

For mana smoothing/ramp/land destruction, it plays gatekeeper, acid moss, and into the maw of hell. You want to piss someone off that doesn't like acid moss? Follow moss up with next turn into the maw...
It also includes most of the suite of aggressive landfall creatures.

Anyone else seen this or care to share a deck list?
I'd love to see it.

Time for some fun:

Walls Dec 2.0

3 x Tide Drifter
2 x Sigiled Starfish
3 x Mist Intruder

3 x Sigil of Valor
1 x Evolutionary Leap

3 x Eldrazi Skyspawner
1 x Benthic Infiltrator
3 x Vile Aggregate
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
3 x Spell Shrivel

2 x Whirler Rogue
2 x Eyeless Watcher

1 x Flameshadow Conjuring
2 x From Beyond

1 x Kiora, Master of the Depths

2 x Blight Herder
1 x Barrage Tyrant

2 x Drowner of Hope

6 x Island
3 x Mountain
3 x Forest
2 x Lumbering Falls
2 x Cinder Glade
1 x Rootbound Crag
2 x Hinterland Harbor
2 x Sulfur Falls
4 x Evolving Wilds

Guaranteed tier 1  61 cards because 60 is for tryhards. I HAVE already killed a rank 40 dude with 20/23 unblockable starfish

No butt (lol) seriously, there are probably a few cards that could be trimmed.... would welcome advice.
Currently thinking -1 herder +1 rogue -1 sigil (to cut to 60). Dec probably also wants another land, so that's another cut (could be a foundry of the consuls though)
If i'm gonna ditch a herder I could probably ditch an Infiltrator for land nr 26. I kinda like 2 herders, but meh. Probably not optimal. maybe -1 drowner instead of -1 Herder?

Well it makes combat a nightmare for your opponent once the tokens get going, and ofc it blocks any early drop bar T1goblin T2big pants if they are on the play. Also, it attacks with sigil and buffs aggregate, so it's not ONLY an anti aggro tool. I wouldn't use it in a different deck though (maybe thopters but probably not) :D

Just had a guy with a prowess build face off vs me going T2 Intruder, T3 Tide drifter T4 From Beyond T5 herder. Didn't take him long to concede

Maybe I should be maximising the goldfish ?

t2 intruder t3 aggregate t4 watcher t5 herder = 20 damage ? Probably not consistent enough to go all in on it though.

Whenever I get Kiora and a Starfish on the table.... it's great ! Can't stop tapping that big butt !

So currently testing +1 Mist intruder -1 Sigil, +1 Eyeless Watcher -1 Drowner of Hope, +1 Whirler Rogue -1 Flameshadow (sad johnny)

Been fiddling with this for the last few days. It's kinda like my old Temur list, but more air power, less ground power, and faster overall. Yeah.. It's the whole Thopters/Evoleap thing again.. with some new additions:

4x Twin Bolt: Bc Allies, RDW, and Thopters are pretty prevalent in the meta currently.
1x Akoum Firebird: Bc it's freaking great.. and it does exactly what we want to do here.
2x Woodland Wanderer: Bc it's also freaking great as it attacks well and eats up the ground.
2x Brutal Expulsion: This is one I'm testing.. but it could be Part the Waterveil and Woodland Bellower.
2x Guardian of Tazeem: I love this thing.. sets up favorable attacks like a boss, and attacks very well itself.

Notably absent is Skyrider Elf.. because it underperformed over and over again. Believe me.. it was here for at least 10+ games.
So.. yeah.. this is: Mega Temur
4 x Gatecreeper Vine
4 x Elvish Visionary
2 x Evolutionary Leap
4 x Twin Bolt

3 x Thopter Engineer
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 x Reclamation Sage
3 x Bounding Krasis
2 x Exquisite Firecraft

3 x Whirler Rogue
1 x Akoum Firebird
2 x Pia and Kiran Nalaar
2 x Woodland Wanderer
2 x Brutal Expulsion

2 x Guardian of Tazeem

3 x Island
3 x Mountain
5 x Forest
2 x Lumbering Falls
2 x Cinder Glade
2 x Rootbound Crag
2 x Hinterland Harbor
2 x Sulfur Falls
1 x Gruul Guildgate
1 x Izzet Guildgate
1 x Simic Guildgate
