I'm with beast here, she might be the hardest to flip (only 1 red spell in best case scenario) but she wins the game the fastest out of the 5 original walkers we got once she's flipped, opponents have 3 turns to stop her ultimate, and hers wins the game pretty much on the spot. Kytheon is nice, but no one is ever going to lose a game just down to him, the same isn't true about Chandra.

but that's not what a good card makes

Jace is absolutely bonkers and he's not winning any games directly

That's why Jace isn't in a single deck of mine :)

Surprise i'll comment on Chandra too, the moss complainer with his silly ideas.

Chandra is narrow as hell, but there is not a RDW I wouldn't put Chandra in, just because, as said, If she flips when your opponent is under pressure from your T1 and T2; the chances you don't just win the game are negligible. that's worth a 1 off 2/2 pinger.

I do believe her value is very low in a multicolour deck unless you happen to build around her, which, as a 1 off, is impossible/stupid; so I bet you have more consistent choices in a true rakdos deck or even a control deck.

In Nevius's build she's fine because it's basically RDW. He has that same T1/T2 pressure where chandra T3 is like.... whipe or die in alot of scenarios.
Doesnt mean that I think splashing black for forerunner etc is worth it in RDW. It probably isn't.

I'm just comparing her to Kytheon, i agree that Jace is better (Probably with Liliana/Nissa as well) but i can't see how she's worse then Kytheon.
Sure flipping Chandra might be situational and win more sometimes, but i'd argue to flip Kytheon if you're attacking in with 2 other guys without losing creatures in the blocks, you're not in too rough of a shape as well and if you are sacrificing guys to do that, a flipped Kytheon is probably not going to dig you out of that hole.
Granted a 2/1 with potential Indestructible is never going to be as bad as Chandra in a rough situation, but her ceiling is much higher, she can potentially pump out as much damage to your opponents life total as Kytheon does in an entire game in one or two turns.

The thing is everyone is comparing to them both when they are in play, I don’t think that's how you compare cards if they are good. You're always going to toss Gideon in the second you play a Plains. He is great value and gets WAY Too much attention from an opponent.

Chandra keys off red spells and I'm not playing her in decks that ONLY Have red spells in it. That's how bad and slow she is. She's way too situational.

So, less good.

Love her in my burn deck. But that's it.

I agree with Beast that she's way more control than She is aggro

In my Izzit Ctrl deck, she is a mainstay because I'm running a pair of Embermaws. The turn 5 flipped Chandra is not a winmoar, imo, in that deck, but a heavy pressure play. It's more that I'm building around Embermaw and Chandra just compliments him really well.

I have tried the Rakdos Husk deck a few times and I just cannot find success with it. I even lost to a guy with an obscene gamertag and a 65 card deck, the humiliation! Ok my piloting is suspect but still I think the deck does not have enough synergy to be effective. Husk can be useful for counters, it can counter Flames, Traitor/steal effects, and sometimes partially counter Languish. Unfortunately the "eat my board and hit for 20" requires evasion and or trample which this deck has very little.

I am trying a devoid ingest/process/haste/burn with a low curve. I want to win before Languish can get cast.
4 x Sludge Crawler
3 x Carrier Thrall
3 x Culling Drone
3 x Forerunner of Slaughter
3 x Twin Bolt
2 x Processor Assault
2 x Wasteland Strangler
3 x Vile Aggregate
2 x Nettle Drone
3 x Complete Disregard
3 x Touch of the Void
2 x Smothering Abomination
1 x Akoum Firebird
2 x Dust Stalker
7 x Swamp
7 x Mountain
2 x Smoldering Marsh
2 x Dragonskull Summit
2 x Rogue's Passage
4 x Rakdos Guildgate

I have played this build twice with pretty good results. It feels like a fast deck with lots of synergy. I like the ability to give creatures haste and attack while my opponent is tapped out. Probably still in the "valley of death" between RDW and ramp/control. If there was an anthem affect for colorless creatures this deck would be a lot better, right now it is just a fun deck that can be competitive.

What's the average size of your Vile Aggregates, babs? Also, no love for Abbot?

Abbots are probably better than Stonewakers. But yeah, every Rx aggro deck must run Abbots.

I've been trying to make RB Devoid work, but my attempts so far involved stuff like Nettle Drone. Mixed results.

what? stonewakers are insane, especially considering I only have 5 non-creature spells in this deck so prowess means almost nothing

it's worse then drawing a card though. stonewaker is a perfect turn 2 play, abbot is a reluctant turn 2 play

Eh, maybe it's because I'm never reluctant to play an Abbot turn 2.
