Wouldn't it be better to make a separate thread for each dual color combination, like we have for each color?

I mean it's probably safe to assume most decks will be dual color, so if there's only one duel color thread, it could quickly get very crowded and uncoordinated.

Well...if the first 10 posts are index links for the decks, I think it will be OK. It's all going to be on if that can be maintained, and I think it can be. Having too many separate threads...would be somewhat hard. Plus, I'm sure people will come in and start new threads for specific decks...not sure how we can handle that in an organized way...

Yeah, there probably isn't a perfect way to manage it. Keeping all of these updated just seems like a lot of work for the admin.

Midnight Stampede

Artifacts

2 x Darksteel Ingot
2 x Elixir of Immortality

Creatures

4 x Elvish Visionary
2 x Garruk's Packleader
1 x Genesis Hydra
1 x Graveborn Muse
1 x Griselbrand
1 x Indulgent Tormentor
1 x Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
2 x Mold Shambler
2 x Pelakka Wurm
4 x Phyrexian Rager
1 x Rune-Scarred Demon
1 x Shadowborn Demon
1 x Terra Stomper

Instants / Sorceries

4 x Cultivate
2 x Dead Reckoning
4 x Flesh to Dust

This deck is designed to accelerate quickly, draw cards, and drop fatties. Simple, but effective, I believe. Twenty-four of 36 cards either ramp or draw. There's also a smattering of removal, life gain, and recursion.

So - now that there are a few lists (thanks for making 2 ones!) - this is pretty much what I was thinking, trying to link them all in a sortable table....

So, let me know - if people think this is helpful, I'm happy to do it (of course, if people start posting 100's a day...we'll see...) if it's not helpful, I'm fine with just doing whatever.

Seems like this is going to be way too much work for one person. I mean, you'll have to manually update this thread every time somebody posts a deck.
I can also see how it would get ridiculous with the amount of threads if you had one thread for each color combination however..
Maybe we can just have everybody make their own thread with their decks in it and then have 1 thread that links to those?

Honestly, that's very selfless of you to volunteer to undertake such a task - thank you.

I wonder though whether it wouldn't be easier to simply have individual build threads for the 31 different colour combinations and then one sticky which links to them? Sure the forum will look crazy in the beginning but it wont take long to normalise.

Post subject:  Re: Magic 2015 - Dual Colored Decks

I guess alot of it's going to depend on how many real arch-types there are. I mean, yeah...if 20 people each post a :w::u: build which is 1-2 cards off...dunno.
I'm all for this being organized...but maybe this will be too much.
Maybe it's really just too early to tell.

Basically, IMO, I want it to be somewhat easy for people to find other's builds. Maybe it would be better to have people create their own threads for their own builds, and do it that way. Rather than grouping them by color, group by creator.

Post subject:  Re: Magic 2015 - Dual Colored Decks

The more I think about it...I mean, I'm reading all of the threads/deck lists...it's really not that tough to index them from the OP's. So, if people think it will be helpful, I'm still more than willing to do this. I'd just ask that, if someone makes minor changes to a deck, they edit it, rather than posting a new build.

Post subject:  Re: Magic 2015 - Dual Colored Decks

I think it's much too early to be trying to organize a system when there's still a lot we don't know.

What I will say is that the mono-colored strategies will be the least diverse due to the small cardpool, so having a separate thread for all five colors and only a single thread for dual-colored decks seems ridiculous.

Based on what we know at this point, I would just create five threads; white-based decks, blue-based decks etc.

If you want to post a build, I'd suggest two criteria:

1) Look at how many sources of colored mana you have and post your deck in the colored thread that corresponds to the greatest of those values.

2) Don't post completely theoretical decks; take them out for a spin (at least 10 games) and give a little analysis of your early testing.

Not sure if that would work, but it's something to think about.

Post subject:  Re: Magic 2015 - Dual Colored Decks

That's....a pretty good idea. And you are right, it's more likely that there will be more multicolored decks...

I like the "don't post completely theoretical decks" comment as well.

Maybe we can just use the existing threads for theories, and, once we have all of the info, we can figure out a better way to organize; be it by player, or by main color, or whatever makes sense.

Post subject:  Re: Magic 2015 - Dual Colored Decks

Tell you what - I like that idea - I'll lock the threads I made and redirect them here until the game is available. Then, since we'll know more, we can either do the 31 threads, or whatever seems most appropriate.

Locking this for now, until we figure out the best way to organize things.
In the meantime, please post concept decklists in this thread

Thanks

I like it but with Shadowborn Demon being your only removal I would feel a bit uncomfortable.

Post subject:  Re: Golgari

I agree, but the removals are so bad....I might add removals later, so far I'm fine without them.

* this build is without premiums, and just my first try.
