I feel like the Aegis Angels and Palisade Giants are just getting in the way of what the deck is obviously built to win by.

Usually the deck wins me games before they even come out, however I can recall quite a few games where the angel-giant combo has broken stalemates for me since it allows you to crash in with all of your creatures and not have to worry about dying.

I still feel that OVERALL there are better options for those slots and the game plan the rest of your deck is built around.

I have put this deck to the side for now because, well honestly Its not as fun as some others I'm working on, however, which cards would you recommend? I was thinking perhaps getting rid of the angels and giants for Squadron Hawks and replacing 4x kor cartographer with 4x triplicate spirits. (If I get rid of my fatties the cartographers seem pointless). Will let you know if anything interesting pops up, but I'm gonna take your advice and get rid of them fatties Working on a fun Izzet Jalira deck atm.

Yes I would authorize dropping the kor also.

I would TOTALLY recommend adding the squadron hawks they are AMAZING here with the paragons and the flag.

darksteel axe doesn't look great here to me. But then again I basically never use it in any deck so..

for 1 cmc there are more surprising options like swift justice or old reliable elite vanguard

Even better would be to not fill the slot back in with 1 cmc, and go elsewhere with some removal maybe on the 4 slot with divine verdict or rhox faithmender a good staller and has some synergy

I want around 8 one-drops for those T2 Ordeals or Wings. The exalted theme helps push your big attacker through.
If you already have a big threat in play, topdecking and exalted creature is better than a random weenie.
The Axe is more like an aura that sticks around after your creature dies and it allows your cheap creatures to trade up at the very least.

Rhox Faithmender is the single-most obnoxious creature you could ever put an Ascension on. I've lost a lot of games to that. Drop tbe Battlegrace and an Axe to get them in here, IMO.

While that seems pretty unbeatable I would not really want to wait for a 4-drop to put Ascension on.

I wouldn't "wait" for that either. However the truth is that this is a very liquid game and it doesn't always flow the same way. There will be plenty of times you will be casting Ascension turn 5+

Well screw me sideways with a pitchfork. Turns out Solider tribal can in fact be a thing - admittedly mostly because mono-white is already all kinds of solid and most of them just happen to be soliders as is but that's just splitting hairs!



Do I have to explain the game plan for mono-white at this point? Drop ya dudes, drop ya lords, laugh yourself hoarse as you jump up an down on the remains of the enemy. Only thing that can make that better of course is doing it when 95% of ya dudes also have Vigilance. It's a pretty amazing sight. Special mention goes to Crusader of Odric - I bad mouthed these girls when they were revealed but having them hang out with the Captain turns them into absolute monsters. Amazing what a single keyword can do for a card eh?

Also.. Armored Ascension is a huge wincon.

Planer Cleansing is basically there as a 'I ate an early Anger of the Gods and lost momentum card'. Ya know my guys die, they build up a bit of a force, I nuke the entire field in response. I'd rather have it and not need it then the other way round ya know?

Elite Vanguard is indeed a soldier. I don't tend to run him much because I'm too much of a pansy to play aggro properly.

Armoured Ascension... is actually pretty big. I guess I forgot since Crusader of Odric fills much the same role only without that tasty tasty evasion. Hmm. I may have to reconsider not having that in somewhere.

Lots of Soldiers in actually.

Akrasan Squire, Elite Vanguard, Kitesail Apprentice, Ajani's Pridemate, Glory Seeker, Leonin Snarecaster, tokens from Attended Knight are Soldiers too.


Of those though, most are meh. Elite Vanguard should probably be there though, and Leonin Snarecaster could be decent as well.

Don't forget Palisade Giant is a 'giant soldier' too.

That makes sense about the cleansing. They wipe you.. you wipe 'em back! I'm sure you could cut some of that removal. You have a metric $hit-ton of removal in there.
