In this thread you may pick any card and develop it. You are absolutely entitled to develop your own card.

Example:

Soulsteel Saint

Turned into:

Miasma Weaver
Creature – Vampire Wizard (U)
Whenever you play an enchantment spell, target player loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.
2/1

That's about as far as I want you to stray from the spirit of the original design, if you have to. If all you have to do is change some numbers or fix the wording, that's fine too.

At the end of every week, we'll quote every submission to this thread and vote on whether or not the new card should replace the old one.

A mana ritual would be a great use for [engrave], let you crack it open the turn after you pay for it. We already have one though.

Instant (U)
Add to your mana pool.

Hmm, I still think engrave + ritual is a wonderful combination, but I'll really miss the sacrifice a mountain ritual. The two concepts don't really seem to overlap well though.

*"To YMTC it up" means to design cards that have value mostly from a design perspective. i.e. you would put them in a case under glass in your living room and visitors could remark upon the wonderful design principles, with nobody ever worring if the cards are annoying/pointless/confusing in actual play
