You can't vote for yourself. The winner picks a rarity and writes a criterion for the next round. The person who sets the criterion can't make a card for their own round, but they can vote for the winner. This is the thread for cards. I'll set the first criterion: Blue Uncommon. Create a card from the frozen side of the world that cares about artifacts.

Ice Breaker -- Creature - Human Artificer , Sacrifice Ice Breaker: Search your library for an artifact card, reveal it and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library. "The expedition may be dangerous, but the payoff is always worth it." 1/1 ~SE++ |

Icy Insight Instant (U) Draw a card for each tapped artifact on the battlefield. Machines don't work so well in the cold, but there is still plenty to learn from them. |

Shard of Wisdom -- Snow Artifact (U) At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player draws X cards where X is equal to the number of artifacts they control minus 4. On Starstill, whenever one has to travel from one half of the plane to the other, they carry their 'lucky charms' in hopes of the best result. ==xx== Just curious, are the cards created here nominatable? I usually try to wait until afte contest rounds are done before nominating cards, but I just want your opinon Parad in the case of my wanting to nominate something somewhere down the road. |

Still Beacon - Artifact At the beginning of your upkeep, reveal the third card from the top of your library. If it is an artifact card, you may put it on the top of your library. Sacrifice ~: Add to your mana pool. Spend this mana only to cast artifact spells. It sits quietly upon the frozen wasteland, humming a soft melody echoed by the vastness of space. |

Why wouldn't they be? I could understand if this were a contest like Idol, with judges. But I'm very laid back with the structure. The only thing I will be nitpicky about is the color and rarity thing. Most of these cards smell more rare than uncommon, and one of them isn't even blue. The thing that usually happens when we create a community set is that everyone just designs a whole bunch of rares and mythics, and I came up with the Set Map idea to try and alleviate that. So please, everybody, try to make sure your card is blue, and actually designed like an uncommon. That said, I'm not going to disqualify anything from the voting just because it doesn't feel uncommon enough. But Squinty Confused, please make your card blue, or irrespective of how well-designed it may be, I will disqualify it from the voting. |

Unless there's an edit I'm not seeing, Squinty's submission already is blue. Confused's isn't. Balancing Automaton Artifact Creature - Construct Balancing Automaton enters the battlefield with one +1/+1 counter on it. Whenever you cast an artifact spell, put a +1/+1 counter on Balancing Automaton. Whenever any opponent casts an artifact spell, remove a +1/+1 counter from Balancing Automaton. 0/0 |

Runes of Frozen Steel Sorcery Refraction 1 (If you paid to cast ~, copy it once.) Draw a card for each artifact you control. Just out of curiosity, are Snow lands (or other permanents) even in consideration given that one half of the plane is completely frozen? I dunno if it's something to discuss now or not, but if so, my artifact is a snow artifact It's supposed to be a piece of never-melting ice. EDIT: I see that other people are insinuating, so I'll just go with it. Worse comes to worse it can get edited, right? |

Idea: Snow artifacts with mana costs like . Since this is a card type matters set, not just an artifact set, I think we should steer clear of colored artifacts and colorless enchantments, just to keep the conflict between artifacts and enchantments as clear as possible. Have enchantments be associated with the Burned side, and artifacts associated with the Frozen side. That's just my opinion though. I'll let people vote on what they want, and we can fine-tune the set later. |

So, I wanted it to be blue, and not an enchantment lol (because it's a physical thing). I do think, especially with this set, there should be snow things. Just a thought. What you suggested seems to be rather confusing. You're setting up one faction to be color based, and the other to be more artifact based. I don't get that vibe from this set. I don't mind an enchantment side and an artifact side; but if we do do that, that's more reason to use colored artifacts, not less (to help keep color balance between "factions"). Note, I use factions to mean heat side and cold side, not that we'll do watermarks or anything. I think the split should still be 50/50 between the sides, they just need to match the flavor appropriately. I changed my card to be an enchantment (I figure if its never-melting ice, there's something that's keeping it that way.) |

I totally missed the word 'blue' in the criteria and I don't even know how I manage to do something like that. |

I'm actually kind of imagining a donut-shaped plane, with a black sun at its center. Anywhere the sun's "light" can reach is charred black, and the rest is frozen. Deep Freeze Instant Counter target non-artifact spell. The frozen edge of Starstill is such that only the best designed machines could hope to approach it. |

I just also want to get this out, that I just recently (re)played RPG Shooter: Starwish recently (like last week). Having loved that game, I am now excited that this won, being called Starstill, and figured I'd point out that the timing was hilarious. |

Ice Sculpting Sorcery As an additional cost to cast ~, you may tap x untapped snow permanents you control. Search your library for an artifact card with converted mana cost x or less and put it onto the battlefield under your control. |

Frostblight Scavenger Creature - Human Rogue : Draw a card, then discard a card. If you discarded an artifact card this way, put a Relic artifact token onto the battlefield. (Relics have no abilities.) 2/1 |
