I needed a place to work on cards while I am away from my home PC that has MSE installed on it. It is by no means complete in any way and many things are liable to change. Mostly its an experiment to see how quickly I can design a balanced set.
Terexian Lore
The Terexians are the first known human people on the plane of Serinthia. They called the Desert Oceans of Terex their home, forming into nomadic bands of tight Blood Clans. There were two main seasons in the desert. Trading Season and Raiding Season. There were no specific time frames for these seasons. During the trading season, the desert would bloom and the animals were more plentiful. The heat was still oppressive, but more constant. Oasis's became more plentiful. The clans could fend for themselves during these times and not need to raid each other. They would meet at oasis's to trade with each other. Warriors turned to hunting animals instead of killing each other. Shamans would trade their knowledge of healing and magic. But, invariably, the trading season would dry up. Raiding season saw the clans turn on each other, attacking for the items they needed to survive. One of the clans, The Spider, discovered an oasis in the foothills of the mountains that did not dry up during the raiding season. They built homes and decided to invite the other clans to come trade during one of the raiding seasons. But first, they reached out to the Scorpion Clan. They asked that the clan be their protectors in exchange for wealth and prosperity. The plan worked perfectly. The other clans came. They traded in wonder at the marvels the Spider were able to provide. Fruit, animals, irrigation, architecture, medicine and magic. The Scorpions kept the peace. Over the years, the seasons became less of a problem and more of the clans settled closer to this new oasis. The called it Terex (Neverending) and the products of plentiful food and easier lives were born. Knowledge, art, music all become popular and cultural past times. But the spirit of the warrior has never left the Terexians. The other clans expressed unhappiness at the Scorpions being the only clan that enjoyed true membership with the Spiders. A tournament was born. The best warriors of the clans would gather and fight for the honor of protecting Terex. The title of Protector passed around the clans.
