This thread is just for gathering and cataloging information for the set. If you wish to talk about the set or make suggestions, please discuss it in the origin and idea thread Name: (glass set) Size: 250 cards (101 Commons, 80 Uncommons, 54 Rares, 15 Mythic) Theme: A world made of glass, inhabited by creatures made of and related to glass. Mechanical Focuses: CMCs, artifacts, multicolor and/or color matters Creature Type synopsis Eye - Eyes vary in size and mostly float along the surface of the world. Their whole beings are consumed with observing this sparkling world around them. Sand - Sand are tiny creatures with strong connections to the plane, able to harvest its powers and shape its landscape. Reflection - Reflections are judgmental vengeance seekers, often appearing as agents of retribution formed to the crimes committed. Illusion - Illusions are tricky creatures capable of using the illuminating qualities of the plane to manipulate those around them. Ooze - Oozes thrive on the glass plane, able to shift across its slick terrains, meld into its surfaces, and feed on everything they come across. Spirit - Spirits come in all sizes and shapes. Most are souls trapped in the mirroworks, wandering in search of some place to call home. Nightmare - Nightmares on this realm are giant distortions of perception, made real by the jutting of the glass landscape. Often big, always horrific. Glimmer - I decided to add a creature type of my own. Glimmers are creations made of light, usually tiny specks that move swiftly and directly. Elemental - Your good old fashioned elements, I plan on doing only a few of these, representing the different types of glass in the world. Orb - Orbs are artifact creatures that are particularly good at trapping the essence of magic around them. This determines they\\\\ir color; it is believed that a colorless orb simply couldn't exist. They might serve as the driving conflict, an artificial lifeform (e.g. Phyrexians) come to this plane to consume its magic. Not out of spite, but out of natural curiosity, hunger, exploration. It's their second nature. Construct - Constructs in this set are all made from glass-like components, each utilizing a different aspect of the plane's ubiquitous resource. The question, though, is who made them? Prism - Prisms are all 0/1 artifact creature tokens with the ability "Sacrifice this: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool." They're little glass shards that carry around a bit of compacted energy just waiting to burst.

Chemical Blaze should probably only deal damage = to highest cmc. Against control, or just any multiplayer deck (oh god commander) this can reasonably hit for half your opponent's life total. Also, no recombinant ooze? You my friend do not know a gem when you see one.

Hitting for full damage is the real difficult thing to balance. It's not hard to imagine how that works: just having Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Through the Breach in your hand does it, and that's already another viable combo to have in the same deck! Not sure where exactly the balance for this one exists. It might be highest, like you suggested, or discarding the hand, or just costed at 6RR. But for now, I like it. I'm not really focused on rares at the moment, despite having two in the file. Fair enough, no sense locking down the ability onto a particular card yet. Not getting the historical reference. I actually figured it could be an uncommon. Originally I submitted it as a rare, but feedback said uncommon could work.
