Asphyxiate

Greven's Rating system:
Spoiler

Nice use of an english word with Greek roots. It's not premium removal, but it's pretty good. Pretty close to a 4.0 I think... with waryness that there are lots of instant effects that tap creatures and it's sorcery speed.

I'd probably say that it is around a 3.0-3.5

2.0

Let's say you don't have this in hand. You draw it, and you want to kill that things that's been attacking you. Guess what, you probably can't.

Ugh, I didn't quite work that all the way through. I guess making it instant would be almost like no condition. It's really only good for killing blockers.

I will go 2.5 though because hey, who doesn't want to kill blockers?

It's a bit like counterspell. If you have it in hand when they play the bomb, you might get to kill it on your next turn. Unless, as you said, they have something like a Springleaf Drum.
