I'm going to sit on this one a bit, if voting is still a thing I can do.

Because I have to understand how much of this story I disliked for matter of taste, and how much because of my current emotive situation. I'll put a bunch of thoughts in a spoiler.

Rest assured, there are parts and ideas I appreciated ("The woman blinked" got a genuine laughter out of me) but...

Warning: it contains rather dark TMI personal ramblings. Also, it has not the structure I try to give to my long posts.
Spoiler

So yeah, thank you for posting, really. I'm in a bad place, is all.

Thanks for reading, Huey. I know you have a lot going on, and it's not easy to make time for stuff like this, especially when it turns out to be a story you really didn't like, so honestly, thank you.

Usually, I don't like responding to comments on my voting threads because I don't think it's a healthy practice to respond to criticisms immediately, and also I don't want to try to sway peoples' votes one way or another. But I think some of what you say here really needs to be responded to, and anyway, this thread has been sitting for weeks as it is, so I think I'm alright jumping in a bit.

I'm going to sit on this one a bit, if voting is still a thing I can do.

I don't make these sorts of decisions, but I think you can still vote. You really weren't gone ALL that long.

I see where you're coming from. Ultimately, we all have to vote based on our own criteria and our own opinion. There have been things up for vote that I've genuinely felt did not belong in the Archive at all, or did not belong there as they were, that I've felt I needed to vote No or Not As Is with. There have been other stories that I've personally disliked enough that I couldn't bring myself to vote Yea on, and so I simply didn't vote. And then there have been some that I didn't like personally, but recognized that they still belong in the Archive. Any one of those options is viable and acceptable. If you vote No, or Not As Is, or if you don't vote at all, that is entirely your decision, and I would never fault you for it or judge your reasons for voting that way. I may disagree, but your vote is yours.

And like I said, thank you for reading, and I hope that place improves for you soon.

Yeah, sorry, I guess that was mostly an insecurity burst on my part. I still get the voters' weekly PMs, after all, that should make it pretty official.

I think I'm gonna go with the NAI for now: in addition to this last argument, I'd like to discuss the two minor point of my first post as well. I'm not in denial about Denner's fate, let's say I'm trying to give my contribution in perfecting his sendoff, with all respect to Raven's vision.

Sure, and I am thinking about those points, despite not reproducing them. Obviously, calling her Blink was more for the reader than anything else, but especially considering that names in general, and Veluca's name specifically, are important, that might warrant a change, but I need to look over that section again to make sure it works that way.

As for the pacing of that shift to Gale's POV, I'm honestly not sure anything could be done differently, but again, I'll take a look.

Thanks, Huey!

Oh, eff me. I knew I had already voted on "Ticked to Rid," and I would have sworn on a stack that I had voted on this one, too, but, apparently, I really am thick as a brick, and I hadn't voted here yet.

Mistake now rectified. "Yea" until the cows come home. :)
