I'm pretty sure you already know my opinion. You have no right being so much wittier than the rest of us.

I'm not usually a fan of commentary pieces, but I think this one works. The reason why, in my opinion, is that you could know absolutely nothing about the boardpocalypse and the founding of NGA, and this story would still read well as just the tragedy of Sula and Denner Fabellian and nothing more.

If I have any criticism regarding actually accepting this into the M:EM, it's that so far as I know, nothing has ever been able to interdict the ability of a Planeswalker to 'walk without physical damage. The Shorecerers are obviously powerful and inhuman in nature, and their power is unexplained... but I'm not sure that it isn't something impossible (like Time Travel beyond the Urza/Karn/Tolaria rules) rather than something that simply hasn't happened (like a Planeswalking viashino)

I have voted Yea for now, but will revise to nay if we get a negaguru word on that.

If that is the case, then at least one of my works that have been voted in contain incorrect information. Specifically, in "How to Trade a Planeswalker", Daneera is incapable of 'walking away from Fisco's manor for unknown (to her) reasons. So I'm fairly invested in the answer to this question as well.

As for the story, I laughed more than I probably should have, and I like Denner. FOR COMPLETELY UNSELFISH REASONS.

I vote yea.

On a side note unrelated to the merits of this story, when I first saw the title, I read "Shorecerers" as a drunken slurring of "Sorceress"

Re: Preventing walking, I guess it would depend on how you define physical damage? Memory fails me, but wasn't one of the old walkers trapped in the Amber Prison as part of the Mirage story line?

Seems like Denner could use some of GOB Bluth's forget-me-nows.

Like the story, both as an insider commentary and on its own merits.

Voted Yea. This is very good satire, in the sense that the story flows well even if you are not aware that it is satire (reminds me of Gulliver's Travels in that sense).

As far as preventing a Walker from Walking, I'm sure it would be possible. There have been several examples of Walkers being prevented from entering a plane. Surely those same spells could work in reverse?

About the trapped planeswalker issue, weren't Chandra and Gideon blocked from planeswalking off Diraden in The Purifying Fire?

Also, just from a narrative standpoint, I would think it would be nearly essential to be able to stop a 'walker from 'walking, because if not, any trouble they get in can be easily solved by... planeswalking away from it.
