Post subject:  Can You Solve This?

Hey folks!

I recently posted this quiz to Reddit/sharehearthstone. I got an extra beta key and gave it out there. If you're looking for a beta key still, I'd suggest keeping posted to that reddit - there's often 5 or 6 keys given away each day, and I got mine when someone posted like 15 keys. However, to help keep the keys away from bots, most people have you win it in a raffle or answer a quiz. I did the latter.

Can you solve it? (fyi - the key was already claimed, and the keys are numeric only)

RIDDLE ME THIS BATMAN!

1. "##" - Twins we are born 3 years apart. The first born head up, the second head down.

2. "###" - My name is Frederick Warder, and when I worked in the service of her majesty the Queen, she assigned me this string of numbers.

3. "###" - Now allies inseparable, the white northern neighbour invaded the southern neighbour on this date, less 1000 years.

4. "#" - What did seven do to nine?

5. "###" - Find the pattern; 3, 4, 5, ..., ..., ...

6. "3##7" - I am a prime number starting with 3, ending with 7, and have these two identical numbers inbetween.

7. "##" - You won't find me normally, but I'm often hiding in ocean salts. I'll burn you if touched, even though I'm a liquid at room temperature. I have a neighbour, goes by Clark Kent, though he's really from another world. The "##" is my house number when viewed on a table.

8. "#,##" - If 5 is equal to 0, 6 is equal to 21, and 7 is equal to 42, then this number will be equal to what?

9. "##" - One of these numbers is not like the other, mostly because English is a silly language: 14, 24, 34, 44, 54, 64, 74, 84, 94

10. "##" - What would you get if "u" and "y" wore helmets?

GOOD LUCK!

EDIT: Hint for #3 - The northern neighbour's flag is red and white, the southern neighbour's flag is red, white, and blue.

1. 25
2. 004 - are dated pop culture references riddles? I always think riddles are something you can figure out without significant prior knowledge. Like, OK, the Sphinx's riddle, you just have to know people crawl and walk and stuff. Random James Bond references don't strike me as puzzling beyond their inclusion.
3. I suck at geography, but this is prolly some WW1 or 2 thing.
4. 8 it
5. it's either 6, 7, 8 (x+1) or something weird and needing more clues
6. 3557?
7. This is some period table BS and I haven't taken chemistry in over a decade
8. 8, 63
9. 14
10. 89... or 09. I guess 09.

Well, if it's not 25 it's definitely 69. I guess "head" is pseudo-literal here to mean orb and not top, but they're pretty close.

I'm cheating by googling bc how else would I know about 1812? It'd be cheating to look up a periodic table too. But I guess since you said I could look one up...

Oh! Derp. This is why I suck at riddles--the instructions don't stick. Still, really interesting, like a scavenge hunt halfway in my head. Thanks!

This is a few months old, now, but I just stumbled upon it, and I think it may be possible that question 3 is inaccurate.

I'm just curious - is the question inaccurate, or has somebody faffed up the Wikipedia entry?

The Wiki entry is accurate. Although there was a counter assault, which I guess you could count as an invasion.
