You're off on questions #1, #3, and #7. People had a real hard time with #3; it was Canada and the United States. You're right about it being some "period table BS", but if you look up the Clark Kent reference, you'll probably get the answer pretty quickly.

Definitely not cheating ;-). Google is encouraged. You're so so close, but you've got the first two numbers reversed. The first is born head-up (9), and the second head-down (6). Otherwise, congrats!

I was attempting number 3, and I was trying to guess by flag colours. The first thing I thought of was Canada/USA, so I looked up whether they'd had any wars, and I found the 1812 one, but the Wikipedia entry I found (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_1812) suggests that the US invaded Canada, not the other way around.

I ended up with England/France, but they had a new war every couple of years for centuries, so I took a look at your spoiler.

This is a few months old, now, but I just stumbled upon it, and I think it may be possible that question 3 is inaccurate. Spoiler I was attempting number 3, and I was trying to guess by flag colours.
