My atmospheric/ambient/experimental project. Comments and critique are appreciated.

I like that you're playing with making things more complex. What kind of software/instrumentation are you using?

What I'd like to here is a more minimalist sound, I think. Some of your layers are still a little thick. What if you tried replacing the choral sound with a very subtle and slightly quieter string, and then when the existing strings you have come in at 2:11 need to be softer as well, maybe even slightly softer and higher than the original. Really what I would suggest it just listening to the piano track(s) alone, and try to see what you can get out of that. Not telling you to change it, just ideas on what you can do yourself to maybe get inspiration. There's something there, but I still get this Ogre Battle opening theme feel that, while not bad, feels a little canned.

Tbh I'm not terribly satisfied with the way the choir sounds on the Amesoeurs cover or on Blissful Murder. Its really loud and jarring and goes against the soft/depressive feel I am aiming for.

I use Guitar Pro to write my music, then export to MIDI, then run the MIDI through FL Studio 10. I definitely shall just listen to the piano tracks, I've been running low on inspiration lately. :/

For me, just a piano or guitar is where I do my best writing. If it sounds good when its simple, it'll sound good once you add a bunch of pizzazz.

I agree wholeheartedly. I need to try my hand at writing music with less layers. I've just grown so accustomed to layering and harmonizing the **** outta everything, haha.
