I am mostly a control player in Magic Duels but I need to know about good competitive aggro decks for Magic Duels just to enjoy more the game too. I am now at rank 33 so I need a good deck. I don't like vampires and werewolf decks, I want sinergies and solid decks, not just attacking with creatures. At the moment I have a BG Delirium deck and I really love it. Any suggestions? |

Haven has a Boros Warrior deck in the Constructed subforums (it won a contest) that is absolutely BONKERS WoodlandWanderer has a Radkos artifact/vehicle deck that is NUTS (also in Constructed that won a contest, I think it's called The Old Brutal. Haven also a fun Grixis artifact deck that's called Grixvolutions or something. I love that deck too, it's weird and funky. |

Also, just generally go through the constructed forum. There are many. Look at some of the Rakdos builds imo. |

There are no fun aggro decks in Duels. |

Depends on what you call aggro. I've had tons of fun with aggressively slanted midrange/aggro-control decks. Delirium is great BTW; I consider it being more of a midrange deck but it's tons of fun and fairly competitive (maybe not tier 1, but high tier 2 at the very least). My current iteration is this: Creature(21) 2 x Walking Ballista 3 x Gnarlwood Dryad 2 x Scrapheap Scrounger 2 x Sylvan Advocate 2 x Deathcap Cultivator 3 x Fleshbag Marauder 2 x Tireless Tracker 1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer 1 x Mindwrack Demon 1 x Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet 1 x Ishkanah, Grafwidow 1 x Noxious Gearhulk Instant(7) 3 x Fatal Push 4 x Grapple with the Past Sorcery(2) 2 x Yahenni's Expertise Split(2) 2 x Never // Return Planeswalker(3) 1 x Liliana, the Last Hope 1 x Liliana, Death's Majesty 1 x Nissa, Vital Force Artifact(2) 2 x Smuggler's Copter Land(23) 7 x Swamp 5 x Forest 2 x Hissing Quagmire 2 x Woodland Cemetery 4 x Evolving Wilds 3 x Aether Hub Not a perfect list (I _definitely_ should include Verdurous Gearhulk; not 100% sure what to cut though), but working well for me. |

Thank you for the replies. I think I made a mistake, to me aggro is everything above 15 creatures but probably what I call aggro is midrange. The thing is I am tired of the same control decks with tons of removals and futher than ranks I want to enjoy this game, since at the end is not a tournament but a casual game and format. The idea is build a deck with creatures but with synergies, not just attack every turn with tons of cheap humans or vehicles. I have seen some interesting and appealing decks such as UB improvise with lots of synergies, another one is revolt, and I am also trying a Temur Emerge, are those decks aggro? |

Post subject: | Re: Good Aggro decks for Magic Duels? |
Yeah, just because a deck has 15+ creatures doesn't make it aggro, neither is the reverse true (During SOI, one of the best aggro decks (Prowess) ran ~13 creatures) As to your archetypes: UB Improvise depends on the exact build; as Improvise in itself can run the spectrum (Aggro, Control, Midrange or even Combo). Revolt and Emerge are decks I'd consider midrange in general. If you want to try out rather non-linear aggro decks, I'd suggest you try out either an aggressive Improvise build (probably more aggro-control rather than pure aggro) or one of the variations of Zombies (Dimir, Orzhov or even mono-Black). |

If you want to play aggro, run a combo deck. It's not aggro at all, but it's fun. |

Combo decks, I liked when I played in real life with physical cards but I don't know if work in this format with the limited card pool. |

There are a few combo decks out there, but you're correct that they're mostly too slow or harshly screwed by the format (Metalwork Colossus and Mechanized Production send their regards). The closest thing to a functional combo deck we had were the mill decks of old (SOI/EMN); Geistblast copying either a big draw spell or Part the Waterveil was funny. |

I consider decks like Slugs combo and that deck definitely works. Basically any deck that goes for the 1-shot. |

Please specify what you mean by slugs? Because I doubt you mean something like this (which would be Tribal and by that logic Vampires/Zombies would count as combo decks...) |

I think Vert is referring to Grixis zombies. Runs baby jace, amalgams, haunted dead and elder deep fiends with lots of tricks here and there. |

If you're looking for an aggro deck that's combo-y with fun synergies, you have to try Boros Valor. Arguably the most explosive deck you can make in Duels - you can have draws where you're attacking for 20+ damage on T4. It's very fun to play, and can do a lot of entertaining things. Version I currently run: 1 x Kytheon, Hero of Akros 2 x Hanweir Militia Captain 2 x Thalia's Lieutenant 2 x Selfless Spirit 2 x Kari Zev, Skyship Raider 4 x Aether Chaser 3 x Honored Crop-Captain 3 x Harnessed Lightning 1 x Declaration in Stone 2 x Pia Nalaar 2 x Hanweir Garrison 3 x Thopter Engineer 2 x Pia and Kiran Nalaar 3 x Valor in Alros 2 x Sram's Expertise 1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar 1 x Angel of Invention 7 x Plains 7 x Mountain 2 x Needle Spires 2 x Westvale Abbey 2 x Clifftop Retreat 1 x Hanweir Battlements 3 x Aether Hub Mana base is pretty greedy, but I'm ok trading a game here and there where I mulligan a string of Hub/Battlements/Abbey hands to death for those games here and there where I flip Abbey or transform a Garrison FTW. If you prefer consistency, trade in some of the R/W tap lands to help you hit your T4 double color spells on curve (only a single 1 drop makes it no problem to spend T1 playing a tapped land). I wouldn't go above 24 lands cause flooding out with this deck is the worst. I've run versions with Smuggler's Copter for the loot effect to power through floods, and that's a viable option to sub in too (just remember to pilot it before your Valor triggers resolve so you can get dem big Copter swings). Another vehicle I've run at times is Aethersphere Harvester - more energy plays well with Hubs, Lightning, and Chasers - lifegain is useful at times, and it's a big butt on defense. Current version doesn't use any vehicles cause I got bored with using them in decks - this version is more focused on aggressive synergy and T4/5 wins. Thalia's Lieutenant, Crop-Captain, and Gideon Emblems help you pump weenies to win games you don't draw Valor in. Abbey helps you win stalled games you can't find/stick pumpers in, and I'd run a single copy even in decks I'm subbing R/W tap lands in for better color consistency. Battlements is primarily a just for fun card - occasionally you'll use the haste option to send in a creature who just valor pumped your team for a bigger swing, and every so often you'll be able to transform Garrison for a super fun swing. Mostly it's just a colorless land source tho, that's as likely to frustrate you by not producing a color as it is to entertain you with its abilities. But I run a single copy for those rare occasion where it does something cool and makes you feel good. Another deck I keep coming back to because it's combo funtastic is Fling-A-Drake. You can find builds here: https://www.nogoblinsallowed.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=18840&start=0 It's not aggro at all, but is a blast to play. You spend most of the game aggressively decking yourself and defensively fogging/TITI bouncing/sweeping to stay alive, then suddenly dropping a Drake and flinging it for an instant kill. It's relatively common to get opponents pause spamming at lethal cause they can't believe they spent the whole game feeling in control and on path to victory and you just flung 20 points of damage at their face out of nowhere. (This list from Giocher is the version I like best on the random ladder, with 2x Commencement of Festivities in place of 1x Baral and 1x Dispel: https://www.nogoblinsallowed.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=18840&start=0#p563863) |

Been playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 exclusively for the last 6 months or so. Started to get restless waiting for new content to drop in season 2, and had been noticing a lot of people on friends list playing Duels recently - even Immortal! So I decided to play again while waiting for new Heroes and maps in SWB2. Them I decided to visit this forum to see if anyone was still around, lol Pleasantly surprised I can still find games pretty quickly. Wish they were still releasing content tho I'd love to build legacy decks with sets that have been released since they stopped. |

yeah, still no trouble EVER finding games. I play 2-3 matches a day (at least) and haven't stopped. I go play Prominence Poker after. It's still really fun to play Duels. I've got 4-5 decks left and am playing them down to see which gets eliminated last cuz I want to crown the top 5 decks of all time in Duels (which I consider these to be). |
