This is my first time posting on the forums. I found the forums about 4 months ago and decided to start posting today. My first deck idea that I have made in the Amonkhet expansion is using the card Fling. This seems like the best card of the expansion. I have been having a good time with it, but I have one problem with it. Fling does not trigger thing in the ice to flip like other instants do. For example, if you cast fiery temper on an opponents creature to remove the last ice counter, it will flip thing in the ice before the damage can be done to the creature and send their creature back to their hand. When you cast fling, it will sacrifice thing in the ice before it flips and you get zero damage. Is this working as intended? Am I not understanding something? Also with the same deck, I face a Tutelage deck while having an enigma drake on the field. I saw a post on another thread asking about this. I do not know how to post a link to my videos as examples. Search for Zarvolt Gaming on youtube and see my Izzet flyers fling #2 video for the thing in the ice video. It is about the 29 minute mark. For the drakes vs tutelage video, see Izzet flyers fling #3. It starts about 16:30 into the video. |

Yes. This is correct. Thing would flip when you cast the spell. But the sacrifice effect is part of the cost of the spell, so it isn't cast before the sacrifice happens. |

Thank you for the answer. I went back and looked at both cards again you are right. I wish it worked like I wanted it to work. So for me fling is not the best card ever but I still think it is a great card. |

built a fling list today where the deck is literally like: 1x enigma drake 1x torr gearhulk 1x greenwarden 3x mana dorks. 2x fev visions 1x luxa bounty 3x grapple 4x pieces of the puzzle 2x fling 3x gather the pack 3x pulse 2x collective defiance 4x fog 4x festivities 3x spring // mind + lands. deck is 5W - 2L atm. Sometimes you win of a 1 shot fling, other times you win of attacking for 7-9 each turn. sometimes you use garrison to give drake haste and swing for the 1 shot. I love this deck lol. |

Here I fixed it so the cards show popups of the card listed. You can do it yourself when your writing a post with the card button that is above and on the left. |

I am just at work and typed that out at the end of my break. I also didn't really use the full or proper names for a few of them which would make the links fail right? |

I haven't seen spell shrivel in ages, generally have enough mana open to pay for it though... either way it's just a gimmick deck i by no means would play it in a tournament style event. I 100% think it will get me to 40 which is super funny. |

Yes. In the full editor the card button is up top on the left or you can just bb them yourself like this (without spaces) [ c ]Finest Hour[ /c ] which with the spaces removed makes Finest Hour. Not that I think you are incapable of figuring it out, I just noticed you are very new to our community so thought I might try and help a little also. Welcome! |

You can also use [ deck][/ deck] around a whole list of cards by the way. |

You can also put the name within the quotes, so that you can make yourself seem wittier than you really are, like so: Gravyboat Marauder Bob Nicholas Uninvited Code: [card=Actual Card Name]Oh-so-funny Parody Name[/card]

Had some fun with that feature in the past. |
