I just flashed back the Memory portion or Commit // Memory with Torrential Gearhulk. The menu gave me the option to choose which side I wanted to cast first. I draw 6 cards on my opponents end step and got the 1st chance to use it!

Seems like they did several things right this time around.

I am a HUGE fan of the GY Interaction button. So slick

Is it because split cards count as both an instant and sorcery?

That definitely makes that card better

Yes there was a ruling about this:

Quote:
While not on the stack, the characteristics of a split card are the combination of its two halves. For example, Destined // Lead is a green and black card, it is both an instant card and a sorcery card, and its converted mana cost is 6. This means that if an effect allows you to cast a card with converted mana cost 2 from your hand, you can’t cast Destined. This is a change from the previous rules for split cards.

I'm impressed that Stainless handles it correctly though. The CMC is going to get confusing in duels sometimes though, since we only see one half of the card at a time.

It's hard to find these cards in the deck builder. One if them has the casting cost programmed to be the sum of both spells. If you filter out certain things, when it filters out one side of the card, the other will also be excluded. Super annoying

What's the big deal about the GY interaction ? It's the same as the highlighted stack from before, no?

Yeah BB took me forever to find them the first time around. No idea why they did it that way. :-/

@BB If you press RB, your view of your hand is replaced by a view of cards that you might be able to cast from the graveyard. It makes it faster to find that specific card you want in a match with a large graveyard.

Omg what?? Why is there no way to know that? That's an amazing feature, I'll try it

Thanks

It's listed amongst the shortcuts that are visible on the screen. I think it's called switch hand. You just get used to not looking at those, since you know what the buttons do.

This would mean that the aftermath cards could function pretty well for turning on Delirium, being that they can be both an instant and sorcery in a single card in your GY. Didn't even think about this before. Interesting.

I was thinking that would be pretty cool to try out and then I remembered there isn't much of a reason to run delirium outside of 1 card in our card pool. I always felt we really got shafted on the sweet delirium cards from shadows/EMN.

Don't forget we also have lots of artifact creatures that can help as well. One we can ditch to the gy for 0.

They didn't do it 100% correct.
being able to cast them at instant speed via something like gearhulk is correct.
Being able to cast the aftermath side from a card like talent of the telepath is wrong.

Gatherer clearly states aftermath cards can ONLY be cast from the GY.
Which would override effects like talent casting them from the library(revealed cards are located where ever they are revealed from)

You can find them fairly easily by selecting the color of the spell, as well as "Aftermath".

Most of them are sldo 5-6+CMC because it adds both sides CMCs together. so adding that into the search also helps.
few exceptions cut to ribbons is like 4 cmc i think
