Through playing Control, I noticed that when playing with Fatal Push, Fiery Impulse, Grasp of Darkness, and Harnessed Lightning; they may not be able to answer everything in the meta but just be able to get you to the late game. Now, if you've missed your shot of getting that counter on turn 3 because you missed 1UU on turn 3 and were on the draw, good luck!

I made this list to give players in future tournaments more confidence in stopping the insurgence of what might be a control infestation. We however, do get Essence Scatter so some people might play it as the U Doom Blade. It also is very good against go wide strategies as spot removal is horrible against them. Also, players skillful enough to actively play around Blessed Alliance make it that much weaker.

2 x Distended Mindbender
2 x Elder Deep-Fiend

2 x Reality Smasher
1 x Ishkanah, Grafwidow
1 x Verdurous Gearhulk
1 x Nissa, Vital Force
1 x Skysovereign, Consul Flagship

1 x Oblivion Sower
1 x Woodland Bellower
1 x Ulvenwald Hydra
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
2 x Drowner of Hope

2 x Alhammarret, High Arbiter
2 x Gaea's Revenge
1 x Omnath, Locus of Rage

1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
1 x Kozilek, the Great Distortion

1 x Torrential Gearhulk
1 x Disciple of the Ring

As you might be noticing very quickly, midrange decks have many viable tools that evade most removal posed by control decks. Ramp decks however would need to get these threats down by turn 5 in order to keep up with the midrange threats.

The best possible routes might be a Mindbender on turn 4 as it's effect is on cast in addition to Nissa and Flagship on turn 4-5 as they evade Essence Scatter and most conventional removal.

If I missed anything that is good against control let me know.

EDIT: I forgot to include cards that Fatal Push can deal with at the 1-2 cost spots, but conditionally with a cracked Evolving Wilds.
2 x Greenbelt Rampager
2 x Thing in the Ice
2 x Lathnu Hellion
2 x Sylvan Advocate
1 x Heart of Kiran
2 x Scrapheap Scrounger
***The only creature you REALLY need exile for***

***Only Push can hit these***
3 x Vile Aggregate
3 x Tezzeret's Touch
2 x Aethersphere Harvester
2 x Cultivator's Caravan

1 x Mindwrack Demon
***Grasp cannot answer him***

3 x Untethered Express
2 x Bloodhall Prist
2 x Thought-Knot Seer
1 x Kalitas, Traitor of Khet

***Grasp & Harnessed can hit these***
1 x Archangel Avacyn
1 x Samut,
2 x Docent,
2 x Glorybringer
3 x Arborback Stomper

Uhhh, Scrounger? Vehicles?

But yeah, lots of control on the Steam ladder now, either grixis or tutelage. It's already very strong and it will become stronger with the new set.

Fixed.

Yes, I do notice people "warming up" for control as well.

Lol, whut? Play midrange in order to beat Control? Nah man, that's cool... Aggro beats Control way better than midrange does - always has. If I expect a control meta, I make the fastest deck possible, not a slower deck. It's an honored tradition. Get in before you can stop me. :P

If you're not playing counters, then that 6/4 whale can be annoying aswell.

Yeah, anything with hexproof basically.

Prized Amalgam can be quite difficult to deal with too along with that 4 mana zombie that works with it. They might see more play now since Zombies might be a thing.

Step 1: play 1 and 2 drops (especially 2 in our meta) - get in under (early damage)
Step 2: force them to counter/kill threats that are cheaper than their responses, mostly by playing super efficient 2 drops. (mana advantage)
Step 3: run a sufficiency of instants or flash creatures, and cast them on your opponent's EoT, making them counter, or deal with what you've done. (Tempo advantage)

Include reach. Also haste if it's in your colors (it should be Mr. Aggro player)

Gg.

And Step 0: definitely don't take advice from a control player (opponent) on how to build your deck.

Glyphbae also needs to make the list. The few creatures control runs don't tend to have flying.
