With the expansion comes new troublesome quests. Post here the new ones you come across and we can figure out how best to earn them and which wins the coveted "auto roll" award. During AER, I think that prize went to earning 15 energy AND winning the match, I could never do that one. Tapping 100 artifacts was easier

Also maybe the hardest quest could inspire a deckbuilding contest idea for Giocher

That 15 energy quest was indeed annoying, and one of the few reasons I was still playing the AI now and then.
You can durdle as much as you want, keep the AI's board in check and then alpha strike as soon as you made that 15th energy.

The 15 energy in a game was easy I thought. Gruul/Jund energy good enough to win consistently, and once opp concedes you can drag out the game vs AI takeover to make sure you hit that 15 mark. Didn't have much trouble banging that out in two games.

Tap 100 artifacts can't go soon enough imo. I could never bring myself to reroll that 120 payout, and can knock it out in a couple games with Aethergrid Eggs, but damn those games take forever.

Tap creatures to crew vehicles (still this season or only last?) was comical. I'd be tapping all my creatures to redundantly crew vehicles on opps end step, and crewing vehicles with vehicles like I'm the AI.

There are some cast 15 color/color spells in vs mode that I dislike the most. U/B and W/B in particular, because I don't care much for Dimir and haven't had an Azorius deck I've liked playing this season. Ended up building a monoblack and monowhite deck just for those. But still makes me choose between playing a deck I'm more excited about or playing a deck I only made for the challenge.

You know there's going to be challenges for Exert, embalm, -/- counters, and cycling/discard AKH season. Exert one will be a pain, so I'm hoping the payout will be 60 and no temptation to not reroll.

Why the rush to complete them though? Tap 100 artifacts is soooooo easy and lazy, just play your artifact decks and its gone, even in vehicles it is gone just playing normally.
15 energy is definitely the most annoying, like you have to really dedicate to it because it asks you to do it in one game.
Anyway I only just realised community quest is 120 instead of 60.

For me it's mostly a matter of only having time for 2-3 games a session and not playing every single day. If I slow roll completing quests, my queue backs up and I risk losing gold. Too miserly to let that happen; want to make sure I've got the gold for new sets.

Plus I like to change it up on decks I'm playing. If it's a matter of playing 1-2 games with Eggs or 10-20 games with Vehicles, I'd rather do the couple games with Eggs and move on to other decks.

Izzet thopters was pretty good for knocking out the tap 100 artifacts in a small amount of games, attacking with a swarm of thopters counts towards tapping

I made a Temur clues deck that can easily knock out the tap 100 artifacts quest in one go vs AI. You have to durdle a bit, but it usually only takes about 15 minutes. Its a fun mess of cards with Willbreaker/Aether Grid shenanigans, Evoleap/Ulvenwald Mysteries clue factories, and Whir/Journal search engines and Dockhands to tap the huge piles of tokens it makes. Fun jank that has no hope on the ladder.

I'm betting we get one Embalm/graveyard themed quest like "Play 15 spells or abilities from your graveyard", and possibly one exert themed quest.

For the artifacts quest, I played that contest-winning Aggro-facts deck and then just tapped artifacts like crazy on the ladder. Took 5-6 games I think? I must really be annoying my opponent when I'd use crewed vehicles to re-crew themselves in the end phase just for the extra tap. But hey, that's the way love goes.

Man, you should have shared that list as a challenge breaker deck, lol. The Rakdos Aethergrid Eggs one I used could pull it off in one game too, but it'd be a 30 minute game at least. Usually taking all my playtime for that session :(

I could see a 'play X spells/abilities from graveyard' quest happening for Embalm and Aftermath. I feel 'Exert X Creatures' and 'Cycle/Discard X Cards' are guaranteed based on the D cards they're giving the set: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=14251&start=60#p555978

I'd play eggs but I'd also play thopters with some cars. Just let the thopters build up with something like Thopter Spy Network and other thopter producers and then just crew with all of them since you can crew well beyond the crew cost (and then crew the vehicles themselves too). You can quickly get to 10+ artifacts a turn so it takes no time at all to complete.


I hope they keep it similar this time around. They had a fairly even split of quests that could be completed on the ladder as well as against the AI. Other seasons seemed to favor one or the other but this one was about right. Fingers crossed!

i hope it's all Versus. i'm really bored of the AI. The other day I recorded a win, and I couldn't remember after if I had played the AI or Versus.


At least we know the very first quest tonight will 100% be AI.

Hopefully they make the quests 80/100/120. Or, they probably won't, they could up the 120 to 150, making the gold grind easier on them newbs.

at this point cuz I'm now part of the 1% in Duels, I would love to see them slow down the grind by lowering the gold per quest, thus allowing my card collection to dominate more easily.
