Next in best of series ..... what is the best sorcery spell in Magic Duels.

So after the sexy instant spells onto her more serious but menacing brother, sorcery spells. Any sorcery card from any of the Magic Duels sets to date (ORI/B4Z/OGW/SOI/EMN/KLD/AER).

Interesting to see of this category will still show top picks from latest sets or is there some real candidates from earlier......

Best Sweeper - Languish. All about hitting when relevant, and dodging blowouts like Make a Stand, since not much you want to be sweeping urgently hits above 4 toughness.

Best Single Target Removal - Declaration in Stone. All it took was 2 mana to kick Ulamog out of the meta after all.

Best Burn Spell - Exquisite Firecraft. 4 uncounterable dmg for 3 mana, paired with a Geistblast its salt inducing.

Looking through the sorcery spells on Duels Helper atm, not much else here that sees consistent play, since we're talking "best of" here. Most of the Expertise cards are great value, but I personally don't end up keeping them in most decks when I need to make cuts. The card draw at this speed doesn't see much play outside of decks not running Blue or Mill (for Take Inventory), and Reanimation decks have really sub-par namesake spells compared to what those decks really want/need.

Best...

...sweeper: Yeah, Languish has to take the crown here. Tragic Arrogance gets an honorable mention for being able to decimate planeswalker.dec and keep your biggest threats alive.
...single target removal: Declaration in Stone costing only 2 mana has proven to be good time and time again. Nature's Way is second, but quite a distant one.
...card draw spell: Read the Bones. Take Inventory and Cathartic Reunion need deck support to be efficient, RtB is good in any deck you can cast it in. Not Glimmer of Genius good, but good.
...burn spell: Close call between Exquisite Firecraft and Collective Defiance; I like the added flexibility of Defiance, though.
...ramp spell: Probably Nissa's Pilgrimage; making sure to hit that land drop every turn.
...overall effect: Dark Intimations is really powerful, no questions asked. Its only problem is the restrictive mana cost. Part the Waterveil might be second, but again, pretty distant second.

Overall: It's really tough to declare a winner here, as the sorceries really fill in the holes in decks that instants can't. At the end of the day I might just give the nod to Languish for being a midrange/control staple and a massive reason to play Black.

I have a soft spot in my heart (and possibly in my head, too, ever since the accident) for Chandra's Ignition. Ever since that time I top decked it and cast it on Ormendahl, Profane Princeand hauled my ass out of certain death.

Part the Waterveil is the most powerful Sorcery in Duels.
Take inventory is a great draw spell.
Pieces of the puzzle is a must for Instant/sorcery-based combo decks.
Declaration in Stone will make a comeback with almond cat.
Ever after for reanimation decks is just groovy.
Exquisite Firecraft is just lovely uncounterable burn...
Radiant Flames will save your neck when you need a sweeper more often than the others.
