So, I only have 50% of Aether Revolt cards so far, but I haven't gotten a single, damn Fatal Push. I want to push Fat Al, dammit, but they just aren't giving me the opportunity.

I also have 161 out of 167 cards for Kaladesh, and I haven't seen a single Highspire Artisan. Not that I need one, but that means my last boosters are going to be lousy with them.

Are any cards conspicuously avoiding you?

Not at the minute. Fortunately complete on all. I do remember though back in the early days of Origins that one card was Thopter Spy Network, there was a lot of 'buzz' about it in the early days so was annoying. The other one was Elvish Visionary. Just when I was sold and keen to build a Jund deck she failed to show up until the very last pack.

These days rather than agonizing, as I am usually able to grind the gold in advance of the new set it is open at once.

Not helpful I appreciate if you are still working through the unlocks but I do appreciate the aggravation at times for a particular card.

When I was down to my last two packs of Kaladesh on Steam, I had no Smuggler's Copters. They were my last two rares.

When I was still assembling my first RDW deck in Origins season, the last 5 cards I added to it were Chandra and the four Fiery Impulses.

It sucked to have 2x Firecraft but having to use them so often on blockers when Twin Bolt wasn't enough.

When I was still unlocking ER I wanted shocks to complete my RDW. The last 2 shocks were in the last 10 packs.

When I was unlocking BFZ; Ulamog was in the last pack.

Back in SOI my last 2 rares were both copies of elusive tormentor

Elusive Tormentors, duh. That was obviously working as intended, they were avoiding you.

Until I contacted the support about it, I could not buy the last 3 packs of Origins for some reason (during BfZ). Thankfully they added the missing cards to my account; except one of them slipped their list the first time.

So yeah, that is the card that evaded me the most. It was the fourth Fiery Impulse.

Other than that, I have enough gold to just buy a new set entirely once it comes out. Though AER was not kind to me with Ajani, Tezz, Heart of Kiran and another Mythic (Planar Bridge I believe) in the last four packs.

Mine was SoI's Sorin. I thought buying up the OGW packs outright first would be a better investment...

Ugh all of Origins felt like 'that one card'. I'd be grinding away and someone would post some new deck that of course I couldn't build. Nor did I have the chance to 'build' myself since all I did was grind. Origins all around was a tough set for me (and I knew it would be). Even grinding out two sets when they delayed the release wasn't as bad as Origins (at least I had the cards to grind with then and could have variety).

I have 60% ORI and 72% KAL, and I don't have a single Evolving Wilds, and in my last pack just got my first Aether Hub. Man, I could really use some more mana fixing lands.

On a related note, is Aether Hub bugged? I've now used my shiny new toy a total of 1 time; I tried to cast a colorless artifact, and it stole an energy point from me. No idea what color the game decided I must have wanted, but really? I don't have to manually tap it to get a colorless, do I?

The game loves to screw you over with aether hub (likes to leave it open instead of a coloured mana meaning you have to spend energy to cast your spell) but i've never had it use energy on a colourless spell, are you sure you didn't spend the energy elsewhere?

Yeah, on Steam, that happened to me with about half of Origins left. I'd buy a pack and it wouldn't give me new cards; just removed the coins and then sent me back to buy packs. Then when I bought them all, it registered as full, despite only having about 50% of the cards.

That's when I stopped playing on Steam and committed 100% to Xbox One.

It was turn 4, I dropped the Hub and then played Fleetwheel Cruiser; it was the only spell I played that turn, and I didn't have any cards with energy abilities out.

I've used it again since then and it actually saved the energy for a colored spell, which I was happy about. Hopefully that was just a one off...

It's a good point. I think as Origins was the first in the new Duels from what had gone before and full deckbuilding was already "the thing" following Magic 2015 nearly all the builds would have one or more key cards you just never had. Yes a frustrating set until the last damn card.

That's funny. My last pack of that set was a bunch of garbage commons and Elusive Tormentor. I was still working to unlock other sets at the time and figured I wouldn't waste the gold on that one. Then someone started a thread here encouraging people to build around Neglected Heirloom for fun, and that got me to waste gold unlocking Tormentor.

For me, what eluded me most painfully were the OGW mythics. They were all in my last packs, and this was a set I was still grinding hard to unlock with Tormentors set. I can't recall which was in the very last pack, but I def remember counting packs I had left and realizing they all had the mythics I had been waiting on
