We have decks. We have 30 slots. How creative (or otherwise) do you get when naming your decks? At times I can be creative (or like to think so), at other time it Bant 1, Izzet 1 etc. Back in Magic 2015, maybe because of the high power cards, I had more creative names "Soul of the Gods", "Chemical Prison", "Instig8r". It can be one to watch too if watching the matches, from memory from some time back Mobius used to have some wacky deck names, pretty much in keeping with his online personality. Which thinking on ..... we do not appear to have any wacky personalities of late join NGA. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty around (you know who you are), but no-one springs to mind in recent months post AER or even earlier back to KLD. But before I derail my own topic, what is your most creative deck name, and as a good counterpoint your most boring. Extra points for any explanation on the histories of your responses. SD |

since I don't make my own decks, I often name that after the builder, or what the deck is supposed to do. With the recent flicker deckbuilding contest, we came up (as a group) with some pretty cool names, "Blink Revoltism" and such. back in the day I made moar of an effort to name decks. I think I named Hakeem's Boros enchantment deck Boros Auros which goes to show how boring I am in naming decks. With all the vampires and werewolves running around, i liked calling those decks Team Edward and Team Jacob, respectively. I think those were my favourite names. I think Mobius was always the very best at naming decks. That was often the best part of his videos was just seeing the deck names. |

I don't; keep it simple. "Grixis/Jeskai/Esper Control" "Mono Blue Aggro" etc. |

"Booze" Its a U/W spirits deck. Double pun because "Boos" like the ghosts in Mario and because hard liquor can be called booze or spirits. Deck## is prolly my least imaginative. I mean, its almost like I didn't even try... |

Most creative: Tough to say. I sometimes name decks because I feel like it - not that NasDwarves or Bloody Mary are the most creative names ever though. Most of the time I'll name them simply [colour combination][archetype]. Other times I'm just lazy and will add Deck[13] to my collection (yes, I've been there, and yes, all of them had Homeless Jace avatars) |

Only 5 decks sitting in the arsenal atm. "1/3" "4/2" "16/11" "5/5" "21/4" You would assume these to be win/loss ratios. That would be incorrect, they are the amount of mana floods/screws respectively. |

I get a bit creative, but often forget what the hell the deck contains. Some off the top of my head... Call of Cthulhu - emerge with deep fiend. Obviously. Doom - No idea (checked - it's a UB artifacts deck. No idea where the name came from...maybe Dr.Doom? I can't remember what my brain was thinking that day, and my brain can't remember either.) Carpe Jugulum - Madness vampires. Canterbury Tale(s) - UR mill The Lyre (of Orpheus) - Reanimator deck (The) Valkyries - Thopter deck Walk - Planeswalker deck. I'll die before I call it 'super friends'. Burn - guess |

I'd like to double your entendre! I use simple names, mostly, like Black Magic or Dark Allies, then other times it's Bluella de Blue. My problem is that my 7-year-old also names decks, so I get things like Super By or 456456456 that I have to discern what they may do before inevitably asking him to delete them. |

I have different levels of decks, and different levels get different effort towards their names. Level 1: concept testing. These decks won't even have names. Level 2: refining. These are decks where I think the concept is working and just needs tuning. I'll name these based on concept - i.e. +1/+1, Doublestrike, Humans, etc. I have most fun working in the concept stage and when 1 deck graduates out I usually start another right away, so naming for level 2 is to help me find the deck again when I feel like tuning (usually when I get a daily challenge that the deck can complete). Level 3: finished. These are decks I'm happy with, either because I think they're legit good or because I think my janky (JFF) concept is as refined as I'll get it with available cards, and don't intend to change until new cards drop (upgrades). At this point I'll give it a special name - i.e. Jeskai's Electric Bouncehouse ( bounce & burn), Go Speedracer, Go! ( vehicles), Horcrux ( Neglected Heirloom), Come At Me Bro! ( deck that used Infectious Bloodlust to force creatures with Visions of Brutality to attack me), Artisacdos ( articrats), Boros Body Bag: Valor in Asskros ( valor in Akros tournament deck), etc. Giving final names used to be a big deal for me, considering it a major milestone for the deck. However, I've put less effort into creative names the last few seasons, because I tend to go over the character limit with my names, and it bugs me to have to use short hand to make them fit... |
