Post subject:  Cryptic puzzles for Duels.

Ok, so I'm going to star this thread with a challenge:

Using only Duels cards, how can you have 8 cards in hand and not have to Discard the extra card during your Discard fase (increase your max hand side to 8)?
As far as I can tell, there is only one way. Bonus points to whoever figures is out first.

Feel free to come up with any other puzzles and contribute. :)

What was a playable card when the game was first released, but became obsolete once a better version of it came to Duels?

Since this is a broad question, I'll be taking hints.

No, this requires you to cast 4 cards.

I think this reply wins :p

my turn, an easy one :

You've got a full board of beaters (no mana creatures or artifacts) and just one anthem effect would be enough to kill your opponent, but your nissa, voice is already on the board at 1 counter, and all you have in hand is an angel of invention and one non-disclosed card. if you don't swing for lethal this turn their tower will burn you out before you get to untap, you curse yourself for not bringing creeping mold!
You have a lumbering falls, a hinterland harbor, 1 island and an aether hub (depleted, no energy) in play.


Multiple solutions to this, but the one I'm looking for is involving good cards (as in, not 'oh i cast lifecrafter's gift because the nissa is on 1 so you got dudes with counters already') :p

Seems like the only answer is "Cast Rise from the Tides". Or alternatively "Cast Rise from the Tides and then cheat another Rise from the Tides out with Brain in a Jar"

If one of your beaters is Constrictor, you could drop a 2nd Hub getting 2 energy, letting you drop your Angel.

Or, if one of your beaters is Baral (wimpy beats!) you could cast a Boomerang effect on your Nissa and then drop it again. (Tho you'd need a really wide defense and offense for that to be more effective than simply bouncing a blocker).

Baral's ain't no beats but the hub in hand with constrictor on field works... it would be pretty unlikely that we are 4 color aggro in duels :D but your reply is obviously correct. It wasn't at all the sequence I was looking for though.

take inventory for plain and borrowed grace works if you have a take inventory in grave:P
Other options that require set up are the werewolf anthem, nature way on your matter reshaper cascading into thalia's lieutenant, welcome to the fold or talent of he telepath for THEIR anthem. and others
Looking at the various cards there's also at least one situational one card solution if
hint
