It's funny that I necro'ed a thread specifically to not create a new one for stuff we already speculated, and than someone created a new one anyways.

I guess being selfish here we are only interested in what it means for Duels. I mentioned before it would seem odd to put effort and time into 2 new products but if they want to support the gateway as they refer to Duels in future I guess Magic Next has to kind of support that, maybe along the lines of some default D cards but it will be interesting if they still some form of free grinding.

They do also have to be sure they do not alienate the MTGO cash cow as they see it so the tricky bit is making Magic Next honour the existing MTGO paid collections. I expect Duels to get the shaft here as we will have some sweet cards that MTGO users paid hard cash for.

I expect therefore it will be no different than previous DOTP versions in that our collection will not convert. Maybe they will find a way to provide a cash equivalent (in game of course) to compensate Duels players for their investment.
