its disgusting all thar direct damage.

i reach level 35 not using a single red burn deck, but its anoying to see people going for rank40 no matter what!
what about the fun of playing magic ?

is it just me experiencing bad luck going agains 90% of red aggro in your face burn ?

The hell with terrorist attacks, burn decks in Magic Duels is where the real tragedy lies.

I'm not too concerned with the type of decks being played at rank 40, and only in part because I'm not one of them. I mean, anyone playing to win can hardly be faulted for using a working strategy, right?

I'm a middling player, at best (record rank 31, back in SOI, so far), but yesterday, I (rank 24) played someone at rank 37 and still won, so I have hope that, if I ever get to the top floor, I'll have at least some chance of holding my own for a bit.

If all your facing is burn just git gud and meta game them. Easy win everytime

Or do literally nothing and roll over them because monored burn is a pretty meh archetype.

I do feel like the OP has a point, just not about burn in particular though.

I don't know if it is just an Xbox thing, but it seems like roughly 75% or more of the games I play online are against someone running in their decks. Not talking about burn specifically, or even any general archetype or strategy.

Just that it seems like if I come up against aggro, control, midrange, ramp, or whatever, seems to be the most common color I run into. Be it people running Rakdos Vamps/Thopters/Artifacts, Gruul Energy or Ramp, Grixis or Jeskai Control, and so on.

This was a trend I noticed during KLD, and it seems like AER hasn't changed anything. I can't say I am not part of it though, as the decks I play most often also happen to contain .

Well yeah, red is good right now. Not really monored, but Boros and Rakdos are strong aggro shells and Grixis and Jeskai are solid control shells. And Gruul and Jund midrange etc.

But with so many multicolor decks, you'll run into every color alot.

As a matter of fact, I'm pretty bored with mono-red and my current best deck has 0 burn spells, although it's rakdos. Sometimes, you've just got to think outside the box.

If you want to beat mono-red burn more or less consistently, try something like orzhov life-gain control or mid-range.

Yes a good life gain deck will make mono red / burn cringe.

Pretty sure I had a guy (playing red) quit on turn 2 just because he saw me cast Lone Rider and he must have realized that, even though he could probably kill the Rider, my deck was going to be chock full of lifegain.
