So, any thoughts? Finally aggro dominance?

It will be aggro vehicle and snake.dek dominant, with a few nasty control and ramp decks thrown in.

I like life-gain control but it is really missing Felidar Sovereign.

Aggro was already dominant last showdown. Despite some good anti-aggro tools (push and harvester), there are no indications of real change

If you think vehicles will dominate, bring tutelege fog the matchup is practically impossible to lose!
Warning, many other matchups will be impossible to win, side effects include sadness, intense mood swings and salt as your opponent topdecks burn

I was absent for the last Showdown and the search function is rebelling against me.

What did the top 8 of the last showdown look like?

Top 4 was Wr aggro, Br aggro, Gr aggro & some other kind of disruptive deck like Jeskai or UB in BOTH tournaments.

As of right now, these are the top decks on ladder in this order.

Wr Vehicles > Br Vamps > Ur Tutelage > Gr Energy > Mono R > Mono W > Ur Thopters > Bant > Planeswalkers > BG/Abzan Midrange > Esper/Grixis/Jeskai Control > GRx Ramp...

...notice any similarites? I made them clear with italics to indicate the top 4 on ladder are the top 4 on our tournaments

Do you notice how is the most dominant color? Did you notice that the slower decks like Ramp are at the bottom of the pile (unless they are prepared for this meta)? Notice that no one on the forums wants to play Tutelage in a tournament but according to my stats its the 3rd best deck on ladder?

Welp, I probably won't be going pass the swiss round then, because there's no way I'm running aggro.

I might just run Mardu control with as many :1:, :2: and :3: cmc removal spells as possible and see how many people I can bug.

Lol.
3-4 1 mana removals
6-8 2 mana removals
6-8 3 mana removals

3-4 sweepers

This should do you fine against most aggression.

Yeah, that'll work great until he runs into PW.dec and he has no answers to turn 3, 4, 5, and 6 Planeswalkers.

GG, mate. Welcome to the loser bracket. :P

10th over from the 1st, "BG/Abzan Midrange".

From what I hear, 3 colour Elves will be all the rage. I can't wait to see how it performs!

I suspect about as well as 4-color allies...

Snakes will never replace Copters.

All I see on the ladder are :b::g: Snake decks, :r::g: aggro, izzet/Dimir artifacts, rampish things and... Superfriends.

Haven't found a consistent aggro deck yet. It seems all very hit and miss. I've found it really hard to make a good all round performing deck. So I guess it'll be all about the match-ups. If you paired favourably, you'll do well. If you play your nemesis-deck, better hope luck is on your side.

I predict Pw heavy decks will probably dominate as those are the most resilient (or annoying). They can probably handle most aggro and mid-range decks. Vehicles used to beat superfriends, but I think that's a thing of the Past. Counter heavy decks will probably lose to aggro, so that bad matchup for superfriends will be rare.

I also predict that most decks will include at least 1 vehicle.

Snakes don't replace Copters - Snakes include Copters.

I dunno, I found Golgari Counters to be pretty consistent and at least performing decent all around. Could easily see some of that in the Showdown.
Haven't tested Boros Vehicles yet, but the deck shoud still be good as well; if a tad less dominant than last season.

No sideboards is sad and will lead to a more stale experience. I predict the same meta as last one. Top 8 will be 5-7 Rx vehicle based aggro decks, maybe 1 or 2 GB snake deck (I think the deck is inconsistent as hell, but many will play it), 1-2 creatureless control decks and 0 midrange decks.

Just bring your sideboards to the after party. I imagine Superfriends will take that again

In Ksladesh the main tournament saw a great variety of decks and the after party was stale AF
