I'll figure out a way to organize this better but I wanted some sort of "metagame" for the community here to follow. It's also a nice way to talk about your experience that day when playing ranked.

I decided to separate Xbox & Steam.

Anything one should specify if they are playing a rank one starter deck aka GW Suntail Hawk?

But seriously, this is why I then separated it with metas for Steam & Xbox. Steam pairs you with your own rankings and most people on here are above rank 25 on both platforms.

Anyway, on steam 40 I played like 20 games in the last 2 days and faced 1 esper control deck, 1 (wintervoid) good stuff bant midranger, 1 very creative crats deck and 17 aggro decks. Boros doublestrike, boros vehicles, Rakdos Robots, Vamps, Monogreen stompy, R/G energy, W humans, G/W Humans, Izzet Prowess.... just multiply and add to the list, they have been very prevalent the last days.

I didn't really tune any of the builds I use to counter this, but in general most of them are beatable with a good mid range or control build unless they have the nut draw on play. I beat a G/W t1 dude into t2 dude into t3 removal into t4 gideon eventually topdecking thalia into double declaration in stone with an improvised G/B delirium mid range build Just durdling with value dorks and grapples and big Nissa saying 'screw you' to Thalia. Gideon on the play forcing me to chump with dorks and ishkanah's for 5 straight turns before I finally stabilized through his BS. Triple recursion of rec sages to deal with Always Watching and Copters whilst sitting at 1 life . feelsgoodman.

Eat.
Sleep.
Club.
Flood.
Repeat.

Played 2 games online xbone last night.

1st game vs mono white humans, piloted by a rank 39. Was able to out aggro them for a victory with a Rakdos suicide deck thanks to that Alms of the Vein card that is trash and should never be played ever.

2nd game vs starter deck with D card energy theme, piloted by a rank 1 (who was clearly new to the game as they kept tapping their best blocker to scry on their own mainphase). I felt bad for the player in respect to xbone's cruel matchmaking issues, and strongly considered conceding to give them some free gold to unlock more cards...

...but then I remembered that winning would clear all 3 quests I had in queue, so I did that instead.

3 games with my 8fog mill - lvl 37 steam

1 - win vs esper ctrl lvl 40. 2 sphinx by t4 and him starved on lands
2 - win vs r/w aggro lvl 37. again fast sphinx, enough fog and draw
3 - win vs oddstuff (white aggro/ctrl?!) lvl32. he got rid of jace and 2 ministers but gifted draw...

there is not a lot of enchanment hate around steam anymore. 2 in 10 run rec sage, less else...

As much as you guys call it trash, it wins games. I lolz everytime I hear someone winning with it.

I win with it all the time. The card is really bad, but it has a place.

Let me see, besides my afterparty games I played against:

GW Cultivator of blades/tokens (lost - I had a bad draw and his deck worked surprisingly well)
G/colorless Ulamog ramp (lost to good 'ol Ulamog holding anguished unmaking that I couldn't cast 'cause my 2 Swamp got exiled)
Janky izzet mill (win - beat him with 2 flying 11/12 Bloodbriars and no lands in play)
GW humans aggro (win - not even the fragmentize on Copter saved him from the smooth curve of my rakdos nosferatu deck)

2 - 2 and that's all I had time for.

So in case my previous post wasn't clear, I think if you aren't being aggressive, you probably want to play radiant flames. You got that handy t3t4 on steam, and barring gideon draws you got a free win if your deck makes sense otherwise. If you really want to have a hard time on steam but still be competitive, play heavy black and languish. it works but that extra turn is a big cost for heavily investing in a color some would say is weak (but it does open up grapple and murder so w/e). It does work, but build for it, you want early stall and lots of busted X/5s.
I'm about to embark into this meta with 'only spells' butI guess I should say you should not play this under any circumstance.

80% aggro shaman and pirate warrior

That was meant to be tongue-in-cheek towards the hate it gets around here. It's a great card in the right type of deck, tho the Right Type is pretty narrow. That game I ended up madnessing 2 copies out during the course of play, and won with 4 life left. Would not have been able to outpace my opp without them.

I think the meta is uninspired on steam and I hope people get their **** together. A pack of R/U 2 drops, some direct damage and 8 1 mana removal spells apparently solves the meta as it is being played. Come on forumites, wake up; this is embarassing.

I've had pretty good success with Alms in the two decks I've played it in (Madness Vamps, and Madness Burn). When you look at it.. it looks like a turd, but it let's you recklessly race other aggressive decks, which is what Tim's example proves.
