For a long time, I have wanted to build some kind of deck that puts together the Breaker of Armies and Nahiri's Machinations. The idea of an indestructible monster that has to be blocked has obvious appeal, despite making your Breaker a removal magnet. Naturally, there are a number of ways to do this, but which way works most effectively?

You can put out the Machinations as early as T2, no problem, but what's the quickest way to put out the Breaker?

T5 has things like Necromantic Summons or an un-hasty Champion of Rhonas or Liliana, Death's Majesty.
T4, if you have someone who can give the Champion haste, that works, too.

Is there a T3 option to put out a Breaker? What other combinations work as well or better? What colours does this combo imply to you?

Honestly that sounds like a win-more combination. Back in the day we would put Regeneration and Lure on Thicket Basilisk and eat everything, and when it works it's cute, but then the opponent points Murder or some similar card at the Basilisk and the combo crumbles. Breaker of Armies doesn't have hexproof or any other form of in-built defense. The tempo loss from losing Breaker of Armies to removal is going to be massive. Besides, it's a 10/8 creature for 8 mana. You'll win in two swings and your opponent is most likely to be chump blocking. Why bother?

The reanimation angle is similar. It makes more sense to me to reanimate cards like Ulamog (who's also built-in indestructible) instead of Breaker of Armies.

Bloodlust Inciter, 2 drop, Eldritch Evolution, Champion of Rhonas could get you there T3.

Edit: or just a Druid on 2 to ramp the Champion makes way more sense. I got ahead of myself there.

Though that early I'd rather have it be Eldrazi Devastator so I could clone it T4 (Saheeli or Altered Ego, take your pick) and win.
