If you're playing Madness Vampires or whatnot, you're good after your 5th land. Any more and you're over-extending. Correct play is to hold it back.

And, if I wanted to Avacyn's Judgment your face for more than 4, what would you do?

I'd rather see u throwing down lands than u holding 6-7 cards in hand at 5 mana.

Playing lands like that is exactly like overextending.

It depends on what deck you're playing. If you have higher costed cards that could help you out with the current board state then yeah, hit your land drops. Otherwise, if you're flooding out and have plenty of lands on the field, don't play the lands out and bluff.

Except it isn't, because keeping lands in hand isn't helping you the way keeping threats in hand.

Stop slamming down threads.

It makes you really vulnerable to land sweepers, it's true! Not sure how in heavens I didn't notice that before, I'm so confused right now...

Each minor suggestion doesn't need a thread though, bad or otherwise.

Maybe do a Chiang's Pearls of Wisdom thread, where you can cast them before us swine in one place, rather than buckshoting the main page?

That way you wouldn't be overextending the main page.
