We have the benefit of experience over the exuberance of the young. They say "youth is wasted on the young" (re George Bernard Shaw or Oscar Wilde, take your pick). However we'd all agree, for the James Dean's, the Jimmy Hendrix, the Amy Winehouse's, a bit of old age experience over youthful exuberance and we'd have enjoyed these amazing talents for longer.

Another quote goes "it's better to burn out than to fade away", that's if you subscribe to the Kurt Kobain philosophy.

We "oldies" have our memories, the good times, and yes the benefit of experience .
