Just thinking: given that we now know it's Gideon and Lily that's yet another 2 walkers for Abzan, which is rather boring.

I wonder what power level we'll be looking at for them, given that their current iterations are very stong and staples of and respectively? I don't think Gideon will be all that different; I'd expect him to be 3 or 4 mana and fit for purpose in aggressive decks (I'm sure vehicles will love him) though maybe tuned down a little from AoZ given his omnipresence throughout the current rotation. Lily is a little harder to predict.

I think seeing as EMN Lili was all about her "raise an army of the dead" fantasy, we should probably expect something more along the lines of her lifeloss/discard iterations. I'd love to see a 6 mana version of Gideon, since there's a 4 and 6 mana Chandra. A Rakdos PW would also be awesome.

As long as new Gideon isn't as ******* annoying to play against i'm good haha **** Ally of Zendikar and everything he stands for.

Also of note, the name of the "five trials". My guesses would be:

Trial of Solidarity - White dominant (if there's shards/dual colours)
Trial of Knowledge - Blue dominant
Trial of Strength - Green dominant

Based on his current power level, I'd imagine 6 CMC Gideon being similar to Elspeth, Sun's Champion. Not sure how I'd feel about that, though it would be a massive boon for control.

Also aren't we expecting one of Lily's demons to show up? Potentially a bomb for black. Given the vibe of Amonkhet I wouldn't be surprised if Abzan goodstuff reclaimed its place as one of the premier decks.

Green should be so dumbed-down on this plane, but you're probably right given all the other stuff Green already has. Here's hoping for another mythic bomb creature in that demon for mono Black!

Predicted there would be a Gideon and seemed pretty apparent there would be a Lilliana after learning her next demon to kill is on Amonkhet.
Also semi-confirming the packaging and Bolas showing up in HOD is fine, it makes sense since the GW probably going to lose to him and have to run away and there's the Mythos around when the God-Pharaoh returns and all that so wouldn't make sense for him to be present right off the bat.

That would be in keeping with some anticipating Amonkhet being a trap for the Gatewatch. Love to see one of these power rangers get taken out for story development.
