Firstly, if that's the best critical advice you can offer, you don't know much about writing. I don't tell NASA to fly their rockets faster. Try pointing out exactly what needs improving, if you can, and it's easier to point out helpful constructive improvements.

"Find an editor. Someone you trust that completely understands what you're aiming to do"

I'm not saying that he has to do these things. I'm saying this is more constructive feedback. Otherwise if you don't like it, don't read it I guess.

Also kdo a lot of writing and I don't see a problem with the writing. These are supposed to be high school students

The issue with the writing is that it's very obvious/amateur and not very clever. They don't make me laugh. Like the, "I'd crack that clue anytime." line.. that's a setup for Lily to say something witty or clever.. but instead we get, "Maybe you should!" with an exclamation point.. why the exclamation point? Lily could've said something like, "Sorry but I prefer black mages" or "White Weenies just doesn't do it for me." or something.. I dunno.. I'm not a pro writer either.. but the opportunity was there. It was setup to be a home run but ended up being a single.

I don't hate what he's done.. but it's just not very.. refined? I dunno what the right word is.

I could rewrite all his jokes for him. That's the only way to really display what actual humor looks like.

I'm all for Verts sense of humour in these cuz that appeals to me, but I think I'm in the minority

The artists humour is in the right place though. Nissa making a stupid plant saprôing that says I love you instead of putting counters on existing creatures , which annoys Gideon, is totally on point . Or Gideon and Lilly kicking out those affinity artifact things.... all of this is perfect

To beasts point, yeah it's unrefined cuz this guy is new at this. The potential is obvious, let's just give him time. I agree with Beast that the clues one totally fell flat but I didn't care cuz Lilly was so hawt. The following ones got better and I'm sure they'll keep getting better

Well, i did this to have some fun and never thought about it in a serious way (part of the name of the thread which was ironical only). If you guys don't see the point and my contribution isn't of your taste or it doesn't fill your standard then i guess i have to remove myself from here. Don't need this forum to post my stuff anyway.

Please don't! Some people just can't keep their criticism civil, it seems. Don't judge them for their weakness: we are all just human, after all. I, for my part like your comics a lot. All of them made me smile, and most made me laugh. They are also technically well executed and adhere to comic theory. I have an English Literature MA and wrote my thesis on comics, so I know what I'm talking about. I'm also a non-native speaker of English and know what it's means to express yourself in a foreign language on a sophisticated level, e.g. academically or humorously.
Tl;Dr: Ignore statements that tell you how your work doesn't fit somebody's taste, as they will not help you grow.
