I don't mind having to farm gold against the AI if need be. But if I am going to do that, I would at least like it to be fast and efficient. I want to be able to get 3 packs a day(400 from daily cap and then 60-120for daily quest since it doesn't count towards the cap).

Mega's thopter deck he helped mw with, did great first 2 days. then been hit or miss from there, usually miss against people I have been getting matched to. I also made a B/R that was from a post from mega with a couple tweaks, and that was the same, did good then fizzled.

That is why I asked about an agro deck or whatever to use against the ai so that its faster and then its not really a grind at that point to me. I'm not a huge fan of AI playing, but if it will get me coins faster, then so be it.

I just don't feel like dropping money on this if I don't have to, and if I am going to, then I should just buy it all at once, and forget the grind all together.

Also, if the xbox had a 2hg player base, none of this would even be an issue. could just do it that way. but there are times it takes 30 minutes to get a game going for 2hg. On playstation, I never had that issue with any iteration of duels. YOu could always get a game of 2hg on there and usually within a few minutes.

Why do you feel the need to buy it all at once? Kaladesh and Aether Revolt is all you need.. ESPECIALLY if you have Origins already. Why spend 200+ bucks when 60-80 will do?

Funny you mention the win rates fizzling.. it's a trend I've noticed for a long time. Make a deck, it runs great, goes like 9-1 in its first 10 games. Get excited about it.. post it or stream it.. then watch it go 50/50 or so after that. It's a trend that has been so consistent, that I don't like posting decks anymore until I've got 40+ games on them.

More 2HG is NOT the answer.. because its flooded with people with subpar decks, looking to get carried by better decks.. which isn't all that different from what you're wanting. If you had a friend.. sure, then it's viable.. but with randoms.. F that.

The problem with playing Aggro vs. the AI: the AI plays almost exclusively midrange. It's geared to beat Aggro, in order to slow down the grind.

Well, for 2hg I don't need the carry. I can make a deck for that that works fine as long as I don't have a crap partner. Just been 1v1 I am having an issue with. I have a straight blue mill deck which works great for it, and a blue control deck that lets my partner do his thing while controlling the other 2 players.

But I think I got my deck for grinding the AI. went through a few different types and think I'm good with the mono red I have. only had to restart a few times when I got a crap hand. here it is:

22 x Mountain
3 x Goblin Glory Chaser
3 x Goblin Arsonist
2 x Molten Vortex
3 x Ember Hauler
3 x Call of the Full Moon
4 x Infectious Bloodlust
3 x Inferno Fist
3 x Ravaging Blaze
4 x Twin bolt
4 x Dragon Fodder
1 x Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh
3 x Thopter Engineer
2 x Exquisite Firecraft

Been doing great as of this posting, and pretty fast. I aggressively mulligan to have either the Pyro or the Menace(preferably this one) and to go with it either Moon or Lust.

The Blaze and the Walker haven't been relevant in any of the games against the AI, so will most likely cut them to add in 4xTitan's Strength just to make game faster if I draw them. I don't see Vortex hardly ever, but when I do get it, it does end game faster.

Also been lucky enough not to use everything in my hand to quick. So going good so far.

I don't think I need to buy it all at once, but I also feel, why shouldn't I for the most part. But I do see where you are coming from. Guess I just feel left behind since I got into the game so late. If I can keep a quick grind going against the AI, I may not spend anything or just drop like $80 to get at least one full set of something and a few packs of another. Just a matter of which to get. Big consensus seems to be getting KLD and AER, so will probably just do that and work on the other as I go.

Needs more bodies for all those auras.

I thought about that. Dragon Fodder is there for some extra bodies, but I find that even when I do have it in my hand, it doesn't get played all that often. As for the auras, bloodlust replaces itself if the creature dies(which doesn't always happen unless I can't keep board clear), and with Full Moon, I also can't cast more than one spell a turn.

I already took out Blazes and put in Titan's Strength as its replacement. I get more and better use out of it, especially since I don't always hit 4 or more lands, either because of mana screw, or Ai is dead to fast if I get a good draw.

I could take The Twins as I call them, lol, and replace them with a real body like Bullies. It's the same cost, just 1 bigger body instead of 2 smaller ones, and it does have the interaction with my non-creature spells. I didn't like them in the other deck I tried, but it might work here.

Could drop in that dragon that is , flying and lets you draw extra card and then discard your hand.

Thoughts??

Here are a few ideas I had (be warned I'm not the best at this sort of thing).

Abbot of Keral Keep could do some work. He is an okay early play but he really shines once you have 4 or 5 land in play, just be sure to play him before you play a land in case he exiles one for you.

You should also have a few vehicles if you have all the D cards, you could put them in instead of Infectious Bloodlust or Inferno Fist. Don't pull Call of the Full Moon, it wins games.

Avaricious Dragon is okay, but you would probably get more mileage out of Pia and Kiran Nalaar.

If you are going to run that many creature auras you might as well put in Flaring Flame-Kin, if an enchanted FFK goes unanswered it can quickly win games.(It is a big if though, once enchanted they are walking removal magnets.)

Pulling Ravaging Blaze was a good move, it is not a good fit for this deck, it works best in longer games and you don't have enough instant and sorcery spells to reliably turn on its second ability. You would be better off with Fiery Impulse or if you are dead set of including Ravaging Blaze then you need to lean your deck more towards mid-range or you need to put more instant and sorcery spells in your deck to make Spell Mastery more relevant or both.

Funny you should say that. After the reset is ready for me today, I am going to actually try theTrampler and Parents.

But I won't take out the Lusts or the Fists. I get a lot of use out of those. Lust replaces itself if the creature happens to die, and with Fist, it pumps up my Gobo when it has menace or on a thopter(or soon to be Kin, for the extra damage it gives), besides the fact it's 2 more damage to something if I sac it. I do that a lot for the killing blow to the AI.

Not the most ideal use for it, but it does help me all the time I get it, so it's not a dead card in my hand. I am just trying to replace the dead ones, mostly which is the Twins. Mega said to drop the other Vortex and he is right, I don't need it all the time, but it does have nice utility when I get it and have lands to spare. With those 5 out(Vortex and Twins) I have room for the 3xKins and 2xParents.

I've played a deck like that a lot with a similar card pool to yours. It should wreck the AI, but don't expect any traction in VS until you have at least 3 sets to work with.

You are not going to win every game against the AI, but when you win it will be fast. Remember, this deck doesn't have many ways to regain its footing if it gets behind, so If you start losing just restart. If the current AI deck is too troublesome then quit the match and start over, you will usually get matched against a different build.

yeah, that's what I have been doing. If it gets bad I just start over, but I win almost always and usually fast. I have no real intention of taking it online much. I do it just for giggles usually since I don't care about rank. Now that I have a deck to beat up the ai with, I am just going to grind out the coins that way. I just didn't have all the cards at the time to effectively beat ai.

it's a choice too in terms of enjoyment versus chore as matches v AI whilst arguably most time efficient with the right build but gets boring but versus matches you can get longer games, sometimes more wait for matches and maybe all for naught after a loss, entertainment 1 - gold grind 0. Best is a mix of both if rank is not a big thing for you.

I think I know of decklists that can help you farm.

Considering that you have Origins completed, you might want to see this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlP-c8cjczo for my take on the Origins RDW.

There are also videos with Starter only cards vs 30-40 ranks with a Simic deck that'll get you covered with all quests.

For a faster farm you might want to complete Kaladesh as soon as possible and add vehicles to your mix, even a Renegade Freighter will help your farm speed quite a bit.

Now that I have something that is fast and beats the AI almost every game, I don't mind the grind now. All in all, its faster than me trying to do it online and losing most of the time, lol. If I get bored, I can try for a 2hg game for some coins or just for fun.

Now I feel like I can get maxed out each day and not really spend any money at all. takes 3-4 weeks to get a full set done, and that is ok with me now that I'm able to max each day. When I couldn't do that, the game got really frustrating for me. I have origins done, and 35% of SOI done. I am just going to grind some coins for now against AI and then start buying KLD and AER first most likely, and hope the other sets go on sale. By maxing on coins each day, and having 5 full sets and half of one to still get, will take me a good 5 months or so to get it all done(sales withholding).

But I should be able to have at least 2 more done by the time the next set comes and I can buy that and then move back to the older sets. I feel a lot better now about playing the game.

I only feel left behind when I play 1v1. in 2hg, I do plenty fine with what I have as long as my partner has half a brain, lol. I play control mostly atm for 2hg, so its easy enough for me to halt the other side and let my partner do his/her thing.

After you get Aether revolt and kaladesh you should be fine in pvp and that'll make the grind even easier.

Depends what for. I like to try to do 60 games (not all exclusively played by me) for something like a tourney.

Will do barney! Same goes to megabeast too, will keen an eye out. Made a new deck list again. was the one that Origin linked for you tube. I can post it later if anyone wants. I took it online and won like 7 or 8 in a row with it, so the grind was faster and easier today, haha.

I do want to thank everyone for their help and advice. Now to just figure if I want KLD or AER first.

22 x Mountain
3 x Goblin Glory Chaser
4 x Goblin Arsonist
4 x Fiery Impulse
4 x Titan's Strength
2 x Abbot of Keral Keep
2 x Ember Hauler
4 x Mage-Ring Bully
3 x Call of the Full Moon
4 x Infectious Bloodlust
3 x Twin Bolt
2 x Exquisite Firecraft
2 x Act of Treason
1 x avaricious Dragon
