I think the map will be huge for Grixis and Esper Control. Especially because of the Improvise counter. It's possible to come up with three color decks that have reliable manabases without including green now.

Yeah, I was specifically trying to think of something that allows you to trigger revolt T2 WITHOUT tapping any mana, so you could cast Liberator or Endless Gears on curve for profit.

You mean so your opponent can tap a and say, "This...is...KALADESH!!!" and ruin your day. :takei:

Using a bad card to enable a maybe big play doesn't make the card good at all...which is what this thread was about; Good cards in Aether Revolt. Renegade Map doesn't fit that moniker in any way.

Dude, Dies To Doomblade as a catch all criticism for everything is weaksauce. :b: "This...is...KALADESH!!!" also kills legit good creatures like Sylvan Advocate, same as conditionally good creatures like Greenwheel Liberator.

At any rate, day wouldn't be ruined. Opp would simply have had a timely answer to a good threat. You'd still have your extra land from the map. It's a land fetcher, not a mana prism. Revolt play answered, land fixing still achieved.

You do have a point about this being a thread for good cards, and as much as I'm trying to think of good uses for map, I won't argue that it's a Good Card. That said, this is NGA - when do we ever stay on topic? :-p

I'm wondering if the Meryl Streep thing, and especially the push back, will cause the Oscars to get out of hand. I hope not but I guess it's unavoidable. Who's hosting anyway ?

Don't mention his name Barney. Don't you release that can of orange, biggly worms!

I love that you played along with my off topic comment, but you could have done way better than oscars... Oscars more trash than Renegade Map. +1 rec, BUT NO MORE!

Also, on topic off topic again, the map is already included in at least 2 deck in the deckbuilding subforum, so that's a thing that happened. :-p

It's definately going into grixis for me; turns on UD too. Image

Guess you didn't see the smiley face thingy...maybe /sarc next time will work better???

The point of the matter is it is a really bad card and you should feel bad for using it. It's redeeming factor is that you can use it to activate Revolt. The Implements can do that too, and are better at it.

In fairness, it was a bug eye face rather than a tongue out ****ing-with-you face or sarcasm pac-man.

I'm still not completely sold on Implements, personally. The more intriguing ones cost more than :1: to cast. Waiting to test with improvise before I decide how good I think they are. Seem decent for Revolt, but slows things down a bit with activation costs. If map wasn't such a terrible late game top deck I'd keep arguing in its favor... It's a fine T1 play, but it keeps getting worse and worse after that.

I was going for something different...I'll take the hit on that.

I don't think it is worth it dor improvise...why keep it around instead of cracking it improving your draws? AND it is a ridiculously bad topdeck, worse than a land...we agree there.

I think when the set drops I will run a deck with full sets of Reclamation Sage, Conclave Naturalists, and Mockery of Nature. Gotta make sure these maps don't take me down.

You're right; need to run the full set of Fragmentize too. Image

Then you get matched repeatedly with RDW players trying to grind :V

Yeah... rdw... not worth worrying about, not at all. That deck didn't just get exactly what it was missing or anything... nothing to see here. Nothing at all.
