Tukatongue thallid is your answer to the ooze, I guess (as long as it doesn't have rancor on it).

Even better: Jund battlemage

Stall tactic, maybe. Answer, no. Plus, prey upon and eternal witness took out all my early stuff. By the time I got dragons to drop it was 9/9 and I was chumping with them.

I did manage to pull out the second game with a Broodmother, luckily no trample enablers came for him.

So I know I'm still a little guilty of dredging up old 2014 decks as 2015 is on the horizon, but I have a pertinent question:

Form of the Dragon... This is probably the most fun card I have ever run. In a vacuum, it gives your opponent just four turns to get a burn spell for at least five or more, or a board clear and a flier with haste or a flier has more than five toughness.. That's obviously not the true case for every game, but I get an insane power-rush thrill out of essentially rendering my opponent's board useless.

Oh, and watching the vain struggles of most mono-green decks try and play around it is just divine.

What are your guys' thoughts on the card? Is it too risky? Too expensive? Is it too much of a liability in some match-ups? (If they have Banefire... You're screwed!)

I ran it for a while and it was okay; I ended up cutting it once Demons and Faeries entered the metagame, though.

I still run it, it works really well the majority of the time still. Regardless this deck isn't the best so it is what it is, lol.

Been playing this deck lately, and was just taught a painful lesson today, 2 games in-a-row:

Predator Ooze is a cold-hearted, slimy b****.

Nothing short of ramping into Form of the Dragon can stop it.

Consume Strength is your answer. Now, whether your opponent revives it, that is a different story. May need to waste a Jund Charm on the graveyard.

Huh, don't use it. I play this deck as a stall, control, beatdown and it seems to work pretty good. A pinch more early ramp and this deck would be atrocious.
I love this thing.
One of my favorite moments came during a 4ffa. I let my bud image a Broodmother (I could have offed her) and let him build enough a sweet little army before I unleashed Karrthis

I didn't use Consume Strength for a long time either until I was playing vs. someone using it and it worked great against me so I figured I would give it a shot. It works surprisingly well.

I am usually able to block a creature, save my creature that is blocking while killing their's (also saving me taking damage) while also killing another creature with the -2-2 (or taking down something huge while blocking and buffing). This card can really be a game changer and completely turn the tables around in a game. I wouldn't replace it in this deck for anything we have available to us.

The card is good, a lot of the times is a 2 creatures for 1. What is not to like about it?

You gotta find a way to fit Dragonlair Spider in there. That card is amazing. I'd cut a Hatchling for it.

I miss Maelstrom Pulse.

Just play my build and all your problems will go away. Except AG, MM, and DW. :)

I do not like your build. There are at least 5 cards in there I would refuse to run outright.

On my build:
-3 tukatongue
-1 hellkite
+1 twister (I forgot this was in the pool)
+1 dragon fodder(I want the 4th)
+1 banefire (also skeptical)
+1 dragonlair

I last updated it on the mothership and please, name the cards you don't like if you actually want to have a discussion.

Oh, and play my deck before you talk about it. :)

O.O That one is better. I had no idea you meant the mothership (because I assumed we were talking about NGA (because why not?), your list on page 1 of here).

:( I won't play with dragon roost. I'm skeptical of consume strength, and I'm skeptical of a bloodbraid with that kind of creature to removal ratio below 4 mana, but I'll try the rest of it. If you had to suggest a replacement for the roost, what would you suggest?

Roost is great for grindy matches. Enchantments are hard to remove and it gives you a never ending source of dragons. It will be the last threat you play almost every time but I think running 1 is right.

Bloodbraid is just value, even if you don't play the cascade spell a 3/2 haste for 4 is fine and if you hit it's insane.

I agree consume is average and can't remember what I play over it right now.

:( Roost is very good as a mana sink in very long matches where you can afford to drop it and do nothing else that turn.

The issue?

I don't think those are common enough.

Hakeem also doesn't run crucible of fire, which is one of the things I like to run next to roost if I can (or when i used to run it).

Crucible is just a bad card. A 5/5 instant speed Dragon is good enough. I rarely found myself losing because they weren't 8/8s

I actually ran Cruicible in my deck but it certainly wasn't for Roost. It was so my Broodmother was pumping out 4/4 Dragons each upkeep. Fun times.

...though in all fairness if Broodmother sticks around you've probably won anyway.
