One card that seemed interesting to me but we're not getting is the Embalmer's Tools, though I suppose it was just too niche and not worth it.
Oh yeah and Second Sun, which is the biggest bummer here.

Letting us play with Champion of Rhonas sounds a bit crazy but it's only a rare and also need to draw extra big creatures which can get your hand dead. Though I can't wait for the noob QQs because Ulamog came down on turn 4 (assuming mana dork turn 2), vise versa I also can't wait for the 100 card phatstacks to pull it off much more than anyone else.

Younger me is a little sad to not get the color shifted Curiosity and Unstable Mutation for the blast-from-the-past vibes, but current me can't even that fool BECAUSE ANOINTED PROCESSION!

Good to know we can treat them as normal double cards, instead of the paper aberration.

At this point I want to try my hand updating Esper and Grixis control, Sultai mill, G/R Aggro and W/B Zombies.

With the amount of cheap board control cards that W/B has gotten overall, can't see other choices for creatures deck besides going aggro on a way faster clock to match those tools.

I wonder which is better, Trial of Ambition or Oath of Liliana, assuming you run no Cartouches.

In my opinion it's the trial since it's 2 mana and uncommon so more likely to show up on a smaller board and catch the opponent out, plus it has more uses even without the cartouches.

Depends if you are playing 1 vs 1 or 2HG.

I notice we didn't get much of the big artifact hate (Forsake the Worldly, Dissenter's Deliverance)

I'll do you one better; T3 Weaver, T4 tap Weaver for 2, and 4th land (or a T2 Druid) for G, play Gifts on one of remaining 3 lands. Tap for 2UG, play Kiora, untap Weaver and Gift'd land, tap for 2UG, Bounty of the Luxa and start your draw/ramp cycle. Next turn you can hardcast Ulamog or just about anything else. Downside is Bounty is rare so it's a bit MCL but hey.

I was hoping for By Force, Forsake the Worldly and Sweltering Suns, and I'd have traded Watchers of the Dead for Embalmer's Tools but can't have everything.

Man this is the first time i've been happy with the cards we got, really looking forward to Jeskai/Esper control and the -1/-1 counters deck.

Looks like a good list, I'm pretty happy with it. I'm disappointed we didn't get vizier of deferment, the green mana dork (common), vizier of the menagerie, lay bare the heart, and there's probably a couple more that I haven't noticed yet, BUT we got bonepicker and samut!

Edit: Ohhhh, we did amonkhets version of mind rot. Nice! That's gonna be a salty card.

I'm 99% satisfied, considering it is a big set. Esper colors got everything, a couple cards missing for red and green.
Basically what we are missing are cycling lands, artifact/enchantment removal with cycling and some random stuff like tormenting voice. Despite that we got lot of stuff i wasn't expecting for, first of all lot of enchantments and artifacts for my janky decks
