That's not many.
I suppose that makes it better in duels mana screw sense but that really leaves a lot of value off the table considering there is now a mana pool we can use.
Damn shame.

To be fair they haven't really excluded any, it's just no tri colour cards have even been made since Duels came out (hoping Amonkhet changes that!)

I didn't think of it that way. In the older versions we got some really nice cards that weren't necessarily current block or even close. I'm realizing now that this one has been following standard in its release.
One big reason I still really like playing 2014 and (if I can get a game... not) 2013 on ps3. For one thing it's console and I so much more prefer the mechanics of playing on a console and the other thing is the cards you could use in those years. I got rightly taken out by flying demons last night in a 4ffa after I rolled out Captain of the Watch with a Cathars' Crusade on the field. I actually started getting hit hard with a sweep after I played Cloudgoat Ranger. Bounce and Boon, like cocaine, is a hellofadrug.
PS: Funniest thing happened in that game. The Demon Dude (obviously new) attacked me with Lord of the Void and Harvester of Souls and I didn't block..............................................and then cast Sunblast Angel.
Needless to say my new friend I met last night and I laughed our asses off wondering the whole time if that guy had the speakers turned up listening to us cackle as he sat there and let it sink in. In all fairness he was the one who gave me 0. He was pissed I realized he was mana hoarding and needed to be taken out after he rid himself of all his sac and kill spells. Whitemane Lion came in really handy in my keeping board presence. I do have a **** of lifegain at the bottom of my curve to begin with, so I was a natural target as I had 45 life before anyone started hitting me.

Okay guys.. So I plopped down some moo la on the last half of Kaladash and I'm almost done finishing the set. Which set would you recommend grinding next?

I have Origins, Aether 100% and Kaladesh Done'ish at 97%

Honestly, at this point I would finish KLD and then wait a little. Not only is Amonkhet right around the corner in about 4 weeks, and we don't know the set's power level quite yet, they'll often put packs on sale shortly before the release of the next set; and the sale would greatly benefit you (especially if it is the SOI/EMN sale, as blindly I would recommend either SOI or Amonkhet as the next set)

Especially since Amonkhet introduces the Embalm mechanic, which would allow you to make mini-scrapheap scroungers for your Vehicles in AER and KLD.

Probably Shadows over Innistrad. See what the others think. Shadows has some great cards, enchantments like Always Watching, solid removal in Declaration in stone and Anguished Unmaking, powerful creatures like Archangel Avacyn. It has the delirium mechanic that open up whole new deck archetypes. Vampires, werewolves and Zombies for tribal. Decent new Planeswalkers in Sorin, Grim Nemesis, Nahiri, the Harbinger, Arlinn Kord, Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, Westvale Abbey promising Ormendahl, Profane Prince.

One more vote for no purchases at this moment, hoard your coins. If they put on a sale before the new set drops (something they have done often) you can reap the rewards on the set they discount or just heavily invest in almond cat if it looks good.
