Interesting. Looks like we'll prob be getting a non-flip version of Liliana, and some love for :b:. Hopefully we'll get some quality zombies and can get (competitive) tribal with it.

Maybe black can climb out of the power ranking basement in the next poll.

No it's just Emrakul coming to Innistrad. Though MaRo says it's different and a play on cosmic horror with a look at the impact of Emrakul on Innistrad rather than a full invasion of eldrazi, which means it will stick to Innistrad's theme but make it a bit more cosmic and mutated for some of the cards e.g. Bruna and Gisela are mutated and fused together in some kind of warped eldrazi angel instead of Emrakul bringing along an actual floaty tentacle monster friend.

Also duels getting 2 sets has nothing to do with paper. Paper got Oath ages ago and then SOI when we got SOI. There was only a delay in Oath because of failure in competence to code well.

EDIT: The backside of a new Eldrazi transform card has been revealed:
Image
This actually shows part of the idea that it won't be traditional eldrazi flooding Innistrad and still in keeping with the plane's theme.

Ah, so 2 sets per release was an anomaly and not just the way things are done now?

Also, did they reveal the front of that card too, or just the back?

It's 2 sets per block, 1 set per every few months. B4Z Block was BFZ and OGW and currently the Innistrad 2 block is SOI and soon to be released EMN.
After that the Kaladesh block starts with Kaladesh followed by Aether Revolt.

Duels got so behind in updates, presumably because of OGW's colourless mana changes that even hurt Magic Online, that the OGW update got push back and was bundled with SOI.
EMN should arrive on time in July unless Stainless really do try with Emrakul and get so confused they collapse under all the work, pushing the update back.

Only the back of the card was revealed, hence why I said the backside of some eldrazi card was revealed.

Could this be the artwork for the front of the card?:

Jesus H.... why would a company known to make the worst cut-scenes in the history of video games make a trailer that is only a cut scene (and a TERRIBLE one at that). Man, that's gotta be one of the worst trailers ever. Not exactly a Dead Island or Gears of War.

that part where she is raising the dead is so clunky.

They always do these kinds of trailers and this is probably the best in actuality.

They probably start from the assumption that Magic art is amazing (which is true) so they just need to move some limbs here and there in order to make amazing animations (which is obviously wrong). :D

Alright, here's my take on things:

1.) We'll get the new Emrakul in campaign-mode only, where they can put a tight leash on coding the ability.

2.) Ulrich is good and you guys are kidding yourselves. Skipping your sorcery-speed spells to kill a 6- toughness creature is often going to be a valid play. Let your opponent flip him back to attack profitably with some mook on the next turn when he gives them +4/+4. The only reason Ulrich isn't amazing is due to the love R/G has been getting overall in Duels.

3.) Hanweir, the Writhing Township really seems like it should start as a land, but the collector number is all wrong for that. 130 out of 205 seems pretty late for a white card too.

4.) Lovecraftian horror is fun, but don't sweat it: we might get gothic horror back after the Jacewatch come to help, and then Liliana has to fix the mess they make.

5.) Speaking of planeswalkers... we'd **** well better get a new version of Tamiyo who is freakin' awesome. She's too cool to leave on the sidelines. #NewBlueWalkers

6.) There were two articles this week about "going big," so I think I might be on the nose with predicting a return of "battlecruiser Magic" like they had during Rise of the Eldrazi. They've learned some lessons since then, so I bet we can also go wide with zombies and humans, and maybe evasive with spirits or even vampires. Werewolves, if anything, could just get fatter until they have eldrazi-like proportions. I could be way off base here, but it's what I'm predicting for now.

7.) The new Emrakul effectively has "affinity for delirium," so I think we're going to be seeing plenty more of that mechanic coming around.

8.) With #7 in mind, I will tentatively predict a good, usable artifact creature with a built-in sacrifice effect that makes Bottle Gnomes cry sweet, blueberry-flavored tears.

EDIT 9.) I like the female narrator's voice in the trailer, I think she could be Liliana in a radio show for sure.

Was watching the new mana source video on "10 cards we need in Eldritch Moon", and I kinda echo his sentiments for Blue. Not quite to the extent of standard's "Jace/Reflector Mage and that's it" extreme, but the lack of truly worthwhile counters and super draws/cantrips are a big priority for me. I think big Jace does well enough in Duels that the Tamiyo addition isn't as badly needed like it is for paper.

Tribal support is easy to sort out for Zombies, they just need some good cheap ones. Werewolves need some transformation control. Vampires a lord at rare, or something more synergistic and bomby than a singleton Olivia.

Here's a question how the $£%! can it make sense to have an outside the game zone and then have a card that brings things back from that zone meaning its not $£%!ing outside the game?

That's why they need to finally implement the "absolutely-removed-from-the-freaking-game-forever zone": AWOL

I was thinking of your deck when I saw that card. Adds a new layer of board control to humans.

"2w, 3/2 legendary human soldier

First strike

Creatures and nonbasic lands your opponents control enter the battlefield tapped."

Not gonna lie, that's good in a wide variety of decks. You could put some slower aggro/midrange decks down on curve (even hasted nasties get rekt here!), and of course the obvious push for inclusion in aggro decks too.

"Supplanter of Identity
2UU
Creature - Shapeshifter
Whenever Supplanter of Identity attacks you may exile another target non-token creature. If you do, Supplanter of Identity becomes a copy of that creature until the end of the turn. Return the exiled card to the battlefield under its owner's control at the begining of the next end step."

Oooh, this looks nice!

EDIT: At worst, it's a 4 mana Act of Treason in Blue. Put some processor shenanigans in there, and it gets even better.

There isn't an outside the game zone, it's litterally you just grabbing a card you own and putting it into the game. However that is only in casual home with friends gameplay, as these effects are ruled to only pull form the sideboard in even the most minor competitive gameplay like FNM.

2.) Ulrich is good and you guys are kidding yourselves. Skipping your sorcery-speed spells to kill a 6- toughness creature is often going to be a valid play. The only reason Ulrich isn't amazing is due to the love R/G has been getting overall in Duels.

I don't think anyone has said he's particularly bad, just that he's meh and kinda rare power level not mythic. Being able to try and fight multiple times is pretty good but he's still not up there and could do with Haste and Trample or some other keywords.
Also he's pretty much an angry gruul dude who just happens to be a werewolf rather than an actual gruul werewolf that does amazing werewolf things, since most of the people demanding a legendary werewolf are commander players in the first place and he's not actually really any good as a commander for werewolves.
