Can I just say, I'm really sad there aren't any mono decks at all. I think I may play mono-B in the iOS tournament, just to prove a point. I just need to make sure it doesn't put me at too much of a disadvantage for my side board. But I don't think it does, tbh.

DJ, no spoilers on iOS decklists, dang. Still I know you are still deciding between the 2. I know we will find out soon enough ..... But still.

The sad truth is. That acid moss is going to be good against alot of these decks due to them all being greedy colored or ramp. Makes me kinda sick

I'm sensing plenty of doubt on your end. So I assume you won't be taking all the money and gold?

Oh I wouldn't count him out. Not at all. He can keep putting three creatures down and be ready to after each and every sweep. All it will take is one Kytheon's Tactics and it's Game over. You can't block 6 tokens with one Ulamog, so they are going to have to blow burn and sweeps on less than solid card advantage plays. And a lot of them fly so that's evasive damage. AND they come out early. He's got a shot.

But he has mana issues, so you know... nail that red source, or that blue source, or that white source, and you just nerfed his deck. :-D

Nailing the R source is the best way to cut his legs off. His best cards are in R but I think he already knew this as he went with 5 Mountains in the main. Also, his mana looks very resilient to an Acid-Moss. I've got token generators of my own along with 4 sweepers. If I do play him I believe the game might be in my favor.

I wonder if Round 2 will be random just like Round 1? Or it might be one of the pairs playing against the next pair.

In Swiss style, round 1 is random and each round after that you're paired against someone with the same record as you.

Very interesting decklists...I am also surprised there is no RDW or BarneyRed in here. Either one of them would roll some of these decks pretty easily the majority of the games and could keep Control and Ramp in check.

So, what I see is the following:

3 Esper Control
2 Jund
1 Gruul Ramp
1 BUG Control
1 Selesnya Control
1 Dimir
1 Azorius Aggro
1 Jeskai Tokens
1 Naya Ramp
1 5 Color Control/Conflux
1 Jund Steal/Sac
2 IzzetThopters

With only 2 Aggro-ish decks (Azorius Aggro and Jeskai Tokens), I think the Esper Control decks have a slight advantage overall in this tournament, not counting player skill and relative RNG draws. Gruul Ramp, Selesnya Control, and Naya Ramp are next up in relative power (IMO), followed by BUG Control, Jund, 5 Color, Aggro Decks, IzzetThopters, Dimir, and Jund Steal/Sac.

I predict a Control or Ramp deck to win this event.

3 Jund lists and quite a bit of control. I do hope acid moss does not win the day but time will tell. Re the streaming / posting you tube I guess that will be via the links. Hope for some entertaining viewing soon and good luck all (cept the acid moss guys, j/k).

I don't even see any aggro decks tbh. That Azorius deck is tempo primarily (and may have a very rough time, btw), and Jeskai aims to win like turns 6 or 7 (there might be a t5 goldfish in there somehow, but it's not faster than that).

I was actually being polite...agree there is no real aggro, but those 2 come closest. Jeskai has the potential to win games from out of nowhere, but I don't see it happening often with all the sweepers. Azorius would have the same issue, but it has a lot of tempo to help it out into the long game.

It's not that I have a problem with Acid Moss, I think it's powerful and annoying but certainly not broken, but seeing it everywhere made me not want to play it. Hope I don't get punished too hard for making that choice... Same for Ulamog btw. I tried to do something else which is actually pretty ironic since there are three Jund decks. :D It's gonna be fun though! :)

There really isn't too much Acid Moss in the tourney, honestly. That card's power comes on turn 4-7...anything after that it isn't as bad, but it is really backbreaking early when you don't have much out.

The real entertaining thing is that 2 of those Jund decks use Act of Treason...I think not putting Ulamog in won't hurt you too much if you grab their's and swing in (bonus if you can sac it, too!). However, there is a surprisingly low number of Ulamog in the Tourney...

I like your deck, btw. I think it has a pretty good matchup against the field.

One other deck I found interesting that it isn't here is any of the multitude of Aristocrats...

Ow yeah, I actually won lot of games with this deck taking an Ulamog, slap him in their face and sac it... Those are the real nerdgasm moments in Magic for me! :D
And indeed, I thought there would be more Moss and Ulamog around... guess most players are a bit tired of it.
I'm actually hoping for a mirror match with the other Act of Treason Jund deck... I think it could be funny as hell! :)

Honestly, I think people played the deck construction portion of this tournament too safe. But we shall see. The problem with a tuned - I'm going to beat midrange - deck, is that an untuned, slower, less quick ramp deck will actually beat it - and tbh, control may beat the crap out of it. I have a feeling this tournament will be interesting. Some of the poorer looking builds may actually end up trumping some of the sleeker looking designs.

Yes there are a fair few Ulamog's too. I guess if your deck can't handle him by his casting turn it would be moot anyway. His exile when cast is the real threat. He can be easily chumped usually. What will be interesting to watch is the mirrors where casting him first may not be the smart play :D.

EDIT: and make that with the acts around even more of a risk. Enjoy lads haha.

It got canned over the last few weeks by folks like CGB, and people listen. I'm not sure, but I think it may have been the right decision, btw. Some of these creatures really love being played over and over again. If you need to bounce Ulamog - for example - you better win that turn.

Beast, I hate to agree but can understand the need to have seemless content. I mean video editing exists right for this reason but I don't mean to sound like a dick. (Probably too late ;))

I really thought that Hakeem would play his Simic deck, not in a zillion years I would have guessed that he would pick thopters! :D

First I was against it, but now that everyone knows each other's strategy I think a sideboard would have been better.
