I'd love it too, the issue is it's a lot of stuff packed into one card that takes immediate effect. Other cards we have with walls of tex like PWs don't all happen simultaneously. I see this less like Emmy or Dovin where they require coding new mechanics, and more like AoT where something always ends up bugged because it has so many interactions.

Great to see such a hint from a card; tieing AER and Amonkhet storylines through Bolas, as they did between Zendikar and Innistrad through Emrakul, does push the lore. Continuity is key to promoto characters and products, instead of washing them down onto unaware people.

If we get Dark Intimations or not, strongly depends on Bolas PW mechanics. If they can't implement the PW at this time, there shouldn't be a place for the card.

Disallow is amazing, best counterspell we got in years. Stifle+counterspell is so worth the 3 mana

Someone will have to "rules" this one for me, but with Disallow, does it work like...

- Enemy Liliana is on 7/8 counters and ults (activated ability)
- Disallow the ability
- Lili still loses the counters since they're part of the cost?

Yes it works like that. If you disallow a 7 counter lili who ultimates, she dies and no effect happens. Its a common interaction between JTMS and stifle in legacy (using stiffle to counter a JTMS ultimate). This card is so incredibly powerful in jeskai/esper control as it allows the deck to beat its main weakness (early walkers who come before counters and just tick up until ultimates)

These cards are awesome, in particular disallow. I don't think we will get dark intimidation (pw hate?) and disallow, they didn't give us summary dismissal.

The fact that they're story spotlight cards is our only hope haha

My god...Pia's Revolution is exactly the card that this set needed to make Izzet Artifacts (of any of a million varieties and/or splashes) a thing. That could seriously shift the meta by itself.

Disallow will be difficult to deal with for a lot of decks. It will probably become the premier counterspell (beating out Void Shatter) for paper magic with no time spent at all.

The other two are a bit less exciting for me. Dark Intimations feels bad...though it might just be because of the grixis cost (which is VERY limiting). Also, no 3-color cards in Duels as of yet, so I wouldn't be surprised to see this one get skipped.

Battle at the Bridge would be a bomb in artifacts, but what interests me most is the Improvise mechanic. YESYESYESYESYESYESYES! Convoke for artifacts in a format where non-creature artifacts are just waiting for the cards to make them good!? (Not to mention that I play artifacts in commander...)

I think Disallow has more of a UI problem than a coding one. It's not something nigh impossible for Stainless like Lost Legacy, but minimal effort is their MO.

I doubt we're getting Bolas this set. Amonkhet is one of Bolas' playgrounds so it's likely that Mini Ultimatum in AER is just rolling the red carpet for a proper Bolas walker next set.

Also, we've already had Saheeli, Chandra and Nissa in KLD and traditionally they like to do 5 Walkers per block. SOI's 6 was an exception, not the rule. The only way to include a sixth Walker in EMN was to make her hard to play, so they made Tamiyo Bant colors as a compromise.

Now, Bolas is Grixis, so he would be an okay exception to the rule as well. I figure they'd rather let Ajani and Tezz be the featured returning players this set and give Bolas the spotlight he deserves for Amonkhet.

Well it is 6 in total though already so you are right about Bolas being too much, it was just a surprise seeing it. All the walkers are Saheeli, Chandra, Nissa and Dovin Baan in KLD and now Tezzeret and Ajani will be in AER.
Wondering if perhaps Tezzeret will be Planeswalker - Bolas Agent Tezzeret or something like that to make him also work with the mini Ultimatum, just to make sure the card gets a full amount of use without being just a tease for Amonket.

If they did that, the planeswalker uniqueness rule would prevent you from controlling him and Bolas at the same time.
