Hey, I read the brothers War about 20 years ago. It wasn't half bad irc. About R. A. Salvatore level.
Reading is a hobby I really like and seldom find the time for. I am currently reading Fantastic Mr Fox by Road Dahl to my daughter on and off at bed-time and that's really satisfying.
When I went back to university, I used to listen to audio boros while driving back and forth and that was cool too.

Magic can be a sink-hole of time and money. That's most of the reason I quit paper Magic. Duels got me back into it because it was free and Arena is going the same path. The wife complains about the time I spend playing, I understand her, but Magic just scratches an itch that nothing else really can for me.
Its relaxing to come home from work and get in a couple of games and then go and do all the stuff that has to be done in real life.

I like the idea that mtg colors can define a person. Fun read.

There is a player on Steam at rank 40 who has figured out how to quit and retain his rank 40. He sucks at the game too. Plays Titans Strength before combat begins. Blocks Scrounger with a 3/3 flyer instead of Goblin Arsonist. Plays Twin Bolt at sorcery speed on turn 2 on Bomat Courier. Anyways, he sucks.

The first time it happened it caught me by surprise. We were playing and then all of a sudden I was getting 30g for a victory. It didn't even ask me if i wanted to continue, and i was only 1 spell away from finishing a quest so i would have.

Then i start another match and it's the same guy, and hes still rank 40. I squash his 3arly game again and he quits T4. Again i got 30g immediately. I queue up again, and its Newbiest for a 3rd time in a row, and hes still rank 40.

I laughed about it and went to go play New Vegas.

I was watching a few old Duels 2014 videos, and there was an interaction that didn't get played out in the video, but I'm curious what would have happened. The game was Mind Maze vs Chant of the Mul Daya. Chant played first.

Chant: Forest, go
Maze: Island, Veiled Sentry, go
Chant: Forest, Rampant Growth, Veiled Sentry becomes a 2/2 illusion creature, go

At this point, the MM player had a Lord of the Unreal and a Phantasmal Image in hand. He ended up playing Lord turn two, and then Image copying his Lord turn 3. But what would have happened if he played the Image, and instead copied the Veiled Sentry? Would the copy be a 2/2 illusion (not including the +1/+1 from the Lord), or would it be an enchantment, and then become a creature after the next spell the opponent played?

It would be a 2/2 illusion creature

From the way I understand it;

It enters the battlefield as a 2/2 "Veiled Sentry" Enchantment Creature - Illusion with all the Veiled Sentry text on it. And, since it's an Enchantment Creature - Illusion, which still qualifies as an Enchantment, it's power and toughness will become the CMC of the next spell your opponent casts. When that happens it will lose the Enchantment type and simply be a Creature - Illusion.

All the while, it still has the Illusion clause of sacrifice upon target.

Edit: Just so you know; I could be wrong, but I don't think that I am. I'm at a 92% confidence level.

Really? Mass Effect 2 is perfection? That's a funny way of saying 'kinda terrible actually'. Don't get me wrong - mechanically it's a dream compared to the inventory management simulator that was ME1 and some of the companions and their respective side-quests are good but when that entire thing is attached to the terribleness that is the main plot the whole things suffers.

Still not as bad as ME3 though.

Happy birthday Garren! Miss u

This joke reminded me of some posters no here:

How can you tell that something is a dad joke?

Spoiler

Let’s hear them!!

They were all some version of that's not the only thing you've been doing (or not) since 2005.

To anyone on here who hasn't given it a try yet, Slay the Spire is currently on Steam sale and it would personally be one of my top contenders for GOTY. It's basicallya "deck-building roguelite" reminiscent of HS Dungeon Run, except significantly better in every way and with a lot more content. I've spent more than 400 hours on it, ignoring all of the youtube content I've consumed.
